Plot
When Christmas comes, SpongeBob is busy late at night decorating his house with Christmas lights. When he turns them on, they awaken Squidward. SpongeBob then wishes for a blanket of snow to make the display perfect. When SpongeBob asks Squidward what he wants for Christmas, Squidward tells him that he wants the day off, which would happen anyway since the Krusty Krab is closed on Christmas. The next day, SpongeBob ask Mr. Krabs when he can start decorating the Krusty Krab for Christmas, only for Krabs to refuse to let him decorate, thinking it would cost him money.
At that moment, a customer points out to the Chum Bucket, revealing it was covered in lights and there was a huge crowd outside, including Patrick. Mr. Krabs confronts Plankton, saying everyone would leave when they try the food. However, Plankton tells him he won't make money at all if he doesn't decorate the Krusty Krab. Hearing this, Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob to decorate the restaurant, and he recruits Patrick to help. As they leave, Plankton smiles wickedly and states it would be a very merry Christmas.
SpongeBob and Patrick get to work decorating the Krusty Krab for Christmas, including the Krabby Patties with edible, glow-in-the-dark glitter. Later on, the duo have a reindeer ride with Patrick being the reindeer. When SpongeBob tells Patrick he was wishing for it to snow for Christmas, Patrick mentions he would like a hat made of chocolate. Soon the Krusty Krab is full of customers who came to see the decorations and the activities SpongeBob put up. Due to the amount of success, Mr. Krabs decides to keep the restaurant open on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, SpongeBob and Patrick are putting up more decorations when Plankton shows up and reveals spots without decorations. SpongeBob then puts up more lights and flips the power switch, causing the restaurant to go dark.
When SpongeBob and Patrick go inside to explain to Mr. Krabs what happened, he spots something glowing on the floor and sees a Krabby Patty with one of SpongeBob's glow-in-the-dark decorations and Mr. Krabs shines a flashlight on the patty, exposing Plankton trying to steal it. Just then, everyone hears bells and rushes outside to see Santa Claus. He pulls out some North Pole snow and blows it at the Krusty Krab, causing all the lights to turn back on and causing it to snow, much to SpongeBob's joy, and he gives Patrick a hat made of chocolate just like he asked for. The next morning it snows so much that the Krusty Krab is closed for Christmas Day. As SpongeBob shovels over to Squidward's place, he admits there was something to Christmas magic after all.
