Synopsis

After SpongeBob fails his driving test, his friend Patrick takes him on a road trip where they get lost, but still manage to have fun.

Plot

SpongeBob is planning on getting his driver's license and going on a road trip with Patrick, but he fails the driving test yet again. He decides to use his bike to go on the trip, but Patrick weighs down the sidecar so they cannot move. Then, Patrick remembers that he has a license, so he drives. They go to many places, but eventually, they end up with no money and gas.

A man tows them back home with his bike and sings them songs.

Trivia

  • This is one of the few SpongeBob books to not put the title on the front cover.
  • This book reveals Patrick's middle initial, which is J. However, as confirmed by Stephen Hillenburg, that is not his real name.[1]
  • This book was re-released as "Deep Sea Driving" in 2010.
    • This is a pun on "deep sea diving."
  • The title is a pun on the phrase "Crap happens!" Or, more precisely, a more explicit version of that phrase.
