It is a sequel to Comic Crazy!, which released the previous year.

Trivia
- Turbo Snail, Psychic Snail & Scary Noises is identical in style and format to the SpongeFunnies (drawn by the same artist) later seen in the monthly SpongeBob Comics series.
- Unlike Comic Crazy! (which was published by Scholastic), Take 2! was published by Simon Spotlight.
- On the reissue cover, the 2009 Nickelodeon logo appears, while on the original one, it was the 1984 Nickelodeon Splat logo.
- For unknown reasons, the last three pages of Krusty Karen (as originally printed in the summer 2007 issue of Nick Mag Presents) are omitted.
