SpongeBob's pool
Description
It is a pool with a brown shed, red chairs, and blue water. It has gray outsides made out of bricks with torches outside of it. It also has a tub on top with a waterfall.
Role in episode
Squidward lays face down in the pool and starts to recall the events that led to this moment. SpongeBob is digging a hole in his backyard, which disturbs his relaxation. He tells Squidward about the pool he is building and invites him to swim when it is finished. Squidward scoffs at the idea and goes back to relaxing. The pool is finished shortly after, with it being well-built. Squidward suddenly becomes jealous as SpongeBob and Patrick get in the pool.
Squidward makes every attempt to keep the pool out of his mind, but none of the distractions work. He sneaks out and notices that SpongeBob is going to bed, giving him the opportunity to swim in peace. He gets into a pool float and dreams of playing his clarinet for a crowd of party guests surrounding the pool.
He eventually wakes up and realizes that he spent the entire night in the pool. He tries to hide, disguising as a pool toy. Patrick mistakes him for a real pool toy and takes it to the pool. Squidward eventually comes undone and admits his jealousy of the pool to SpongeBob. He responds by telling Squidward that he can get in the pool any time. He has Squidward jump off the diving board, who wants it to be higher. SpongeBob and Patrick adjust the height of the diving board, and with Squidward being caught up in the moment, he does not realize until being in outer space how high he is. Squidward freaks out and clings to the board, as Patrick breaks the lever controlling the height, sending Squidward and the board falling to the ground. He falls hard in the pool as SpongeBob and Patrick compliment his dive. Squidward's body falls apart and his head gets sucked into the pool's filter.
