Captain Cruel, also known as the head pirate, is a minor character who first appears in the episode "Dying for Pie."
Description
Captain Cruel is a light green fish with dark green lips. He has long orange hair and a beard. He wears a dark green shirt with a purple shirt, light purple pants, and a pirate hat with a skull on it.
Names
Captain Cruel is the only generic name the head pirate has been given in the franchise. It was used for him in Find a Missing Star.
Role in series
Captain Cruel has appeared in only four episodes so far. He usually appears to be portrayed as a pirate captain with the "Pirate" incidentals as his pirate crew.

"Dying for Pie"/"Dying for Pie: Puppet Edition!"
Template:Data:Links sees him with his crew on their pirate ship, which is filled with exploding pies. Squidward asks them if he can buy one, but one of the crew members, Pirate 4, tells him the pies are bombs. After finding out Squidward was going to pay, the head pirate stops him and tells him they were joking about it containing bombs just to make money, then proceeding to give him a pie.
"Sailor Mouth"
He is seen at the Krusty Krab with one of his crew members, Harold. The head pirate confirms to his crew mate that Template:Data:Links swore at them when he entered the restaurant.
"Boss for a Day"
He and his crew attacks the Krusty Krab and Template:Data:Links fights them and kicks them out.
"Pinned"
Patrick invites him and some other pirates to a surprise party at SpongeBob's house.

He is seen charging into Patrick's bathroom with his crew, holding a map and saying "The treasure be right through here!"

Operation Krabby Patty
He and his crew join the Flying Dutchman in stealing Krabs' treasures during the "Save Me Money!" mini game.
Lights, Camera, Pants!
He appears as Pirate ghost and part of the Flying Dutchman's crew along with Incidental 64 when they try to stop Mermaid Man because he stole something from the Flying Dutchman. They appear as enemies on the World 2 and World 4 levels as enemies.

Find a Missing Star
After SpongeBob and Squidward are kidnapped by pirates in the Eyepatch 'N Peg Leg, they are taken to the pirates' secret hideout and come face to face with their captain, Captain Cruel. Cruel demands the two hand over their treasure, not believing their claims of not being pirates.
When they reveal that they're actually detectives, Cruel orders his crew to attack them, and gets increasingly annoyed when they fail. SpongeBob and Squidward eventually escape and lock Cruel and his crew within their hideout.
