Synopsis

Patrick gets locked in the bathroom.

Patrick is doing a juggling act with dangerous objects on his show. Suddenly, he needs to use the bathroom, and pauses the show. He chooses a girl from the audience to continue juggling in his place, and unpauses it. After taking a shortcut through his bedroom door, he runs into the bathroom. Cecil is fixing the doorknob on the bathroom door, but when Patrick shuts the door, he assumes he is finished. Cecil forgets the other doorknob on the floor, and when Bunny enters and asks if it is a treat for Tinkle, he feeds it to him. After using the bathroom, Patrick finds that the doorknob is missing, and he cannot leave the bathroom.

Patrick spends the first ten minutes doing arts and crafts with soap suds and toilet paper. He then sees a mousehole that leads to the Dartfish Family's home, but they are too busy listening to music to notice him. Outside the bathroom, Squidina wonders where Patrick is. Patrick tries to escape through the sink when Bunny enters and pulls him out, locking herself in. She decides to clean the bathroom when Squidina walks in, complaining about the show's budget. GrandPat enters to take his monthly bath, and Cecil comes in on a karaoke machine. None of the family notice the door being open, and they all end up trapped.

The family start screaming, catching the attention of Granny Tentacles next door. She enters the bathroom, trapping herself inside. SpongeBob overhears her shouts for help and locks himself in the bathroom as well. This is followed by Rube, a plumber, a saleswoman, pizza delivery men, a robber, a police car, treasure-seeking pirates, and eventually an entire line of people who do not even know what they are waiting for. When Squidina asks about the show, Patrick points out that the audience is already in the bathroom. He brings in the girl, and unpauses the show to take her spot.

Patrick retrieves the doorknob.

Daddy Dartfish enters the room to join the party, and greets Patrick. When he hears Patrick is locked in the bathroom, he suggests that he send a message to someone. Patrick notices the bottle he has been juggling, and Daddy Dartfish offers himself to go in it and deliver a message. He flushes him down the toilet, and he comes back with Tinkle, who still has the doorknob in him. Everyone escapes the bathroom, but Patrick notices the doorknob and eats it. The girl from the show shuts the door, locking Patrick in the bathroom again.

Trivia

General

  • When Patrick reuses the background, the bottom white tape says "PAT211," which is its production code, making it the third episode to reference it, following "Bubble Bass Reviews" and "The Patrick Show Cashes In."
    • This gag also breaks the fourth wall.
  • This episode's title is similar to "The Camping Episode," as both episodes use a "The ___ Episode" naming format. Coincidentally, both episodes primarily take in one location, as the former is primarily set in the Conch Street front lawn and the latter is primarily set in the Star Family's bathroom.
  • This is the first episode Kaz has written for season 2, and his first The Patrick Star Show episode since "A Root Galoot."
  • This episode was accidentally listed on Prime Video Canada on November 19, 2023, along with its sister episode.[10]
  • Despite being copyrighted in 2024, this episode was produced, completed, and released in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, making it the first known case of an episode having a copyright date further than the date it premieres on.
  • This episode was paired up with a rerun of "Dr. Smart Science" during the original American airing.[11]

Errors

  • The toilet brush saleswoman, Incidental 49A, is replaced by Incidental 49 after she enters the bathroom.
  • In a few scenes, the doorknob is on the left instead of the right.
