Incidental 5[3] is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants," while his production order debut is in "Squeaky Boots." He is classified as a hotdog-type incidental.
Description
He is a tall light purple grouper with gray fins and light yellow eyes, and wears an olive green T-shirt. He has purple lips and light yellow eyes with black pupils. He also has thin black feet. In his older appearances, he was a darker shade of purple.
Names
- In "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V," he was named John.
Role in series
Incidental 5 has made many appearances in the series as a silent background character usually in the crowd with other incidentals. He has made very few speaking and notable roles in the series, though he has made a decent amount of notable roles in the first season. He was firstly designed to be a Krusty Krab customer.

"Ripped Pants"
He gathers with Steven and Incidental 6 while Frank cries about SpongeBob pretending to drown.
"Pickles"
At the Krusty Krab, he orders 12 Krabby Patties with wheat buns, which SpongeBob makes in quick succession. He then asks for extra salt, but Squidward states that there is not anymore and even refuses to check for any. He also gasps when Bubble Bass reveals that there are no pickles on his Krabby Patty and when SpongeBob tells Bubble Bass "rawr." He also spots SpongeBob through the Krusty Krab window when Incidental 70 states that he is back.
"Squeaky Boots"
SpongeBob places his plate of food on his table while he shows off his boots to Mr. Krabs. He can later be seen watching Mr. Krabs freaking out alongside other customers.
"Culture Shock"
He appears as one of the participants of the talent show.
"Texas"
He is one of the characters that surround the screen near the end of the episode.
"Walking Small"
He immediately starts running away after SpongeBob starts waving a sandy towel at the beachgoers.
"Fools in April"
He is shown to be disturbed and concerned during Squidward's cruel prank on SpongeBob.
"Hooky"
He is shown as one of the customers that is seen ignoring Mr. Krabs after he bursts through the front doors at the beginning of the episode.
"Bubble Buddy"
He is part of the riot formed by Squidward wanting to pop Bubble Buddy.
"Patty Hype"
He is given a green spotted tongue from consuming a Pretty Patty.

He watches a crater explode in Incidental 31's face.

He is one of the students that mistake Squidward's art class for their cooking class.

He appears at Make-Out Reef with Incidental 7 where they get teased by Barnacle Boy, Man Ray, and the Dirty Bubble.

He is seen escaping from the Chumbot while it grabs its' second handful of citizens.

Mr. Krabs watches him plunge his fin into his bucket of coins at the Fun Arcade.

He calls Squidward a "secret stealer."

He is seen purchasing a fortune cookie from Mr. Krabs.
"Bulletin Board"
He looks at Mr. Krabs when he announces the bulletin board.
"Code Yellow"
He appears as a patient on a gurney with Fred as his doctor in the hallway when Mrs. Puff and SpongeBob go zooming on an iron lung.
"Patrick's Coupon"
He is one of the many people who surround Patrick when he becomes over defensive of his coupon.
"Larry the Floor Manager"
He briefly appears as part of the Krusty Krab team during the battle against the gym guys.

He appears running away from Sandy's boots.

He witnesses Cuddle E. Hugs at the Krusty Krab.

Squidward squirts black lemonade onto his face along with several other customers.

Bubble Bass shoves him out of the way.

He is part of the collision that Spot causes from devouring a fire hydrant and gets rescued by Gary the Snail.

He is seen enjoying the delicious breakfast outside of the Coffee Bowl.

He is startled by Snow Yellow's arrival.

He works at the Art Museum and wheels in a dance troupe of anchovies.

A cardboard cutout of him appears at the Chum Bucket in Plankton's commercial.
"The Patterfly Effect"
He is studying at the Bikini Bottom Institute of Technology. Patrick shoves him out of the way, takes his glasses, and keeps writing on his paper.
"Super Stars"
He appears as part of the audience watching Patrick's show. At the end of the episode, when the "Please Stand By" card is still on, he says, "Try jiggling the antenna."
"A Fool Schooled"
Patrick stands on top of Fred, John, and Tuck Tucker after wrecking the playground.

- On the official SpongeBob Twitter/Facebook/Instagram post from October 5, 2020, Incidental 5's model number is mistakenly swapped with Incidental 8's model number.
