Synopsis

Following a quick preview of events that'll happen, the short begins with Mermaid Man and Barncale Boy eating at the Krusty Krab, but when they see SpongeBob running towards them, they escape to the Invisible Boat Mobile, with Mermaid Man not realizing he dropped his secret utility belt. SpongeBob tries to bring it back to them, but they already have gotten away. SpongeBob considers returning it, but immediately jumps to wearing and playing with it, shrinking lots of things in the kitchen. When Squidward's gets disturbed by SpongeBob's antics, he checks on him and goes off to tell Mermaid Man, but SpongeBobs shrinks him just in time. Squidward demands to be changed back, but the belt only makes things worse. Squidward considers calling Mermaid Man, but SpongeBob decides to ask someone smart to solve the problem, which is ironically, Patrick.

SpongeBob explains to Patrick the problem, but Pat confuses the shrunken Squidward for an action figure and almost kills him. When SpongeBob asks how to seriously figure it out, he believes that switching the letter from "M" (for mini) to "W" (for "wumbo") will solve everything, but it doesn't have any different effect on Pat that it did for Squid. He tries to hide the two in a jar and pretend nothing happened, but the more people he encounters, he continues to shrink them one by one until everyone in Bikini Bottom but SpongeBob is at normal size, all of them stuck in the jar.

Squidward tells SpongeBob to "face the facts" and go to Mermaid Man for help, who happens to be stuck in the jar, and he understands and even relates to SpongeBob's troubles. When everyone tells Mermaid Man to help him unshrink everyone, he only gives the same answer Patrick did earlier. This causes everyone to jump out of the jar and attack SpongeBob, complaining that everything's too big. This makes SpongeBob realize the problem, and so he shrinks Bikini Bottom along with himself, saving the day. Plankton eventually comes back from a trip however, only to see everyone tiny.

In a post-short scene, SpongeBob (with MM's belt) and Patrick are seen bowing to the audience, but SpongeBob accidentally shrinks Patrick again, so he runs off stage with him as the screen cuts to black.
