Mr. and Mrs. Dollar are two sentient dollar bills that appear in the episode "What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?."

Description

They look exactly like regular dollar bills, except they are a sentient couple.

Role in episode

Mr. Krabs is playing with Mr. and Mrs. Dollar and making them kiss each other until he hears SpongeBob screaming in the kitchen. When he enters the kitchen, SpongeBob bumps into Mr. Krabs and he falls into the deep fryer. Mr. Krabs gets out and says he is fine, but unfortunately Mr. and Mrs. Dollar are still in the fryer. It is then shortly revealed that the both of them were actually sentient, as Mr. Dollar admits that even though he had only seen Mrs. Dollar for a short time, he actually loved her. They both subsequently disintegrate in the deep fryer as they start crying. This leads to Mr. Krabs getting angry at SpongeBob and kicked him out, as he called him an idiot boy due to deep frying Mr. and Mrs. Dollar.

Trivia

• Despite Mr. Dollar being credited as being played by Tom Kenny, Mrs. Dollar remains uncredited.
  • Although she does not speak, she can be heard crying when both her and Mr. Dollar are in the deep fryer.
• Mr. and Mrs. Dollar are among the very few money characters to not speak or show their sentience via the person on them and rather show it through their entire body.
• In the book WhoBob WhatPants?, the scene with Mr. and Mrs. Dollar was removed and instead was briefly glossed over.
