User:NionLogos18/The history of Old Man Jenkins
Old Man Jenkins started off as a name given to many elderly fish in the series. This has caused lots of confusion, causing many people to wonder - who exactly is Old Man Jenkins? This page will briefly talk about the history of the name Old Man Jenkins, including the fish given that name.
History
- The first time a fish is given the Old Man Jenkins name occurs in the episode Sailor Mouth. When Mrs. Krabs "swears", everyone thinks she did swear, although it was just the sound of Old Man Jenkins' jalopy. Cut to Incidental 86.
- My Pretty Seahorse marks the next time a fish is given the name Old Man Jenkins. When SpongeBob points out the things that Mystery ate, he mentions that Mystery ate Old Man Jenkins. Later on in the episode, Mystery burps out Old Man Jenkins, revealing a completely different fish. This fish turned out to be Incidental 91, making Incidental 86 and Incidental 91 both having the name Old Man Jenkins at this point.
- Missing Identity mentions SpongeBob saying hi to Old Man Jenkins after Patrick said hi to him this morning. A thought bubble appears, revealing the same fish who was called Old Man Jenkins in Sailor Mouth, Incidental 86. His jalopy from the aforementioned episode appears.
- In The Sponge Who Could Fly, another character is given the Jenkins name, that being Incidental 80. He appears throughout the episode under the names Farmer Jenkins, Sailor Jenkins, and Cannonball Jenkins in that order. He actually isn't given the Old Man Jenkins at all in this episode, and the credits mention him as Farmer Jenkins, so I may propose to rename his article to simply Jenkins, as the "Old Man" part has not been said anywhere in the franchise. Despite this, the Old Man Jenkins mystery finally comes full circle in the next episode.
- In Friend or Foe, a new character named Old Man Jenkins appears, being given this exact name. He was friends with Krabs as well as his mother during his childhood. At first, this character made very little appearances, but starting with season 11, he has been appearing more. Not only that, but the Old Man Jenkins name is given to him throughout the episode.

- In The Main Drain, Old Man Jenkins appears again. His name is mentioned here, just like in Friend or Foe, where he pulls SpongeBob and Patrick into his house and they both exclaim his name. SpongeBob also calls Old Man Jenkins "Wise Jenkins" in this episode.
- Old Man Jenkins makes another appearance in Séance Shméance. His name is not mentioned in this episode, however. He is listed as Old Man Jenkins in the credits, being played by Dee Bradley Baker.
- Old Man Jenkins does make a cameo in a picture in The Check-Up, but doesn't make a physical appearance again until the episode High Sea Diving. SpongeBob meets up with him at the garbage patch, where Old Man Jenkins believes he's King Neptune. SpongeBob as well as Old Man Jenkins himself address him by his name in this episode.
- Old Man Jenkins makes a brief cameo in Plankton Paranoia. Mr. Krabs addresses him by name in this episode saying "Oh, not Old Man Jenkins!".
- He also makes an appearance in Appointment TV, where Sandy says "It's Old Man Jenkins!". When everyone screams, SpongeBob says, saying "I'll play with you, Old Man Jenkins".
- Old Man Jenkins makes a very brief cameo in Karen's Virus, and gets a major role in FarmerBob. His name is mentioned several times throughout this episode, even his farm is known as Old Man Jenkins' farm.
- In The Ballad of Filthy Muck, Old Man Jenkins appears again, saying he isn't afraid of Filthy Muck since he can't smell. SpongeBob mentions his name once in the episode, asking him how he's doing.
- Senior Discount provides another major role for Old Man Jenkins. His name is mentioned several times throughout the episode here.
- Old Man Jenkins made another very brief cameo in The Ghost of Plankton, as well as a line in Hiccup Plague, a cameo in A Place for Pets, a few lines where his name is not mentioned in The Goobfather, before having his name finally said again in BassWard, where his name is addressed during the Old Man Jenkins Had a Farm song.
- Old Man Jenkins appears in Momageddon, as one of the customers waiting for his food. Just three episode segments later, his name is again mentioned, when Margaret says "Order up for Old Man Jenkins!".
- He appears as one of the seven jellies, Cooty, in Snow Yellow, not mentioned under Old Man Jenkins.
- In Just in Time for Christmas and Mid-Season Finale, a caveman version of Old Man Jenkins appears called Caveman Jenkins. His name is mentioned during his ad for Caveman Jenkins Farms. In Mid-Season Finale, his name is not mentioned.
- Old Man Jenkins makes an appearance in The Lil' Patscals. His name is mentioned here, where GrandPat says "Of all places, you had to hit Old Man Jenkins' house?".
- In Patty Poo, Old Man Jenkins makes an appearance, where Patty Poo helped him grow his crops. His name is not mentioned here.
