The Alaskan Bull Worm is a massive worm that first appears in the episode "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm."

Description

In "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm," the Alaskan bull worm is a giant light pink worm with tan teeth and black eyes.

In "My Leg!," it is a darker shade of pink. The worm easily destroys property by eating it.

It is one of the largest creatures in the series, as its mouth is mistaken to be a giant cave, its tongue is mistaken to be the worm itself and its size is large enough to crush an entire city.

Role in series

"Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm"

Template:Data:Links says she can easily fight the worm because she wants to get her tail back, but Template:Data:Links unsuccessfully tries to stop her numerous times on her journey. SpongeBob and Sandy arrive at the mouth of the worm to which Sandy mistakes as a giant cave.

Sandy enters the mouth and fights with the tongue, which she originally thought was the giant worm. SpongeBob informs Sandy that it is not the worm and that it is just its tongue.

They are later chased by the angry worm until they happen to lead him off the edge of a cliff where it crushes the newly moved Bikini Bottom, causing the worm to let out a deep, slow "Ouch".

"My Leg!"

During the montage where SpongeBob is trying to purposefully damage Fred's leg, SpongeBob and Fred are standing next to a sign that reads "Stay back!" Fred first sprinkles salt over his leg, then SpongeBob rings a bell and the Alaskan Bull Worm slithers over to Fred about to eat his leg only to stop, sniff, and lick Fred's leg.

"A Place for Pets"

Sandy's pet Alaskan Bull Worm can be seen going out of the Krusty Krab when Template:Data:Links ushers the customers out. He then vomits up his food after getting rammed by several boats.

"Pet the Rock"

He was seen in the background along with Sandy Cheeks two times. Pet Park and in the Bikini Bottom Pet Show at Oyster Stadium.

Revenge of the Flying Dutchman

In the Game Boy Advance Version, the Alaskan Bull Worm is the boss in the chapter "Out and About."

Creature from the Krusty Krab

In this game, the Alaskan Bull Worm appears at the bottom of a pit that SpongeBob falls into while driving, the insides of the Alaskan Bull Worm then becomes a level altogether where SpongeBob meets the Bull Worm's other victims, including Old Man Jenkins, and has to calm the worm down when it gets stomach ache from a giant chili can it ate. He and Old Man Jenkins manage to escape out of the bull worm by making a plane and breaking through its teeth. The Alaskan Bull Worm appears again in the epilogue to the game, where it eats SpongeBob and part of his house with him, causing Template:Data:Links to faint.

SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis

The Alaskan Bull Worm's head appears as taxidermy in the Bikini Bottom Museum during "Snap Happy" in the console versions. Additionally, at the end of the same level, if the player doesn't get enough good snapshots, Squidward may mock SpongeBob by saying that even the stuffed Bull Worm can take better pictures than he can. Before that level, at one point during "Amulet Adventure," SpongeBob wonders if any Alaskan Bull Worms reside in Dave the Cave.

SpongeBob SquigglePants

The Alaskan Bull Worm appears in the B-Movie nanogame "Alaskan Bull Worm!," where it chases SpongeBob.

SpongeBob's Game Frenzy

The Alaskan Bull Worm appears in the minigame "Escape the Worm," where it chases SpongeBob and Sandy. If you fail the game, the screen shows SpongeBob and Sandy inside of the Alaskan Bull Worm.

SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam!

The Alaskan Bull Worm appears after the player unlocks its cave by clearing the bubbles. The Alaskan Bull Worm serves as a courier, by delivering crops and artisan goods that the player loads into its mouth. In this game, The Alaskan Bull Worm wears a small hat and a type of saddle bag.

SpongeBob Simulator

It appears as a buddy in the Alaskan Bullworm Clam.

SpongeBob Tower Defense

It appears as a secret unit in the Exclusive Summons.

• Its acts of destruction include eating the following items:

  • In addition, the Alaskan Bull Worm crushes the entirety of Bikini Bottom due to its immense weight, which injures not only the city, but the worm itself.
• It is similar to the Graboids, from the Tremors series, which are also giant worms.
  • The end of the episode, which shows the Alaskan Bull Worm falling off the cliff, also parodies the end of the first Tremors movie.
• Sandy's "Worm sign" comment is a direct reference to the Dune book series by Frank Herbert.
• In "A Place for Pets," it is revealed that Sandy has an Alaskan Bull Worm as a pet, presumably a young member of its species as it was much smaller than most other Alaskan Bull Worms in the show, being only a quarter of the size of a typical bus and can fit inside the Krusty Krab whereas the adults of the species are typically large enough to be confused for caves and can swallow most small buildings whole or severely damage them.
• Although the worm is large in general, there seems to be a slight inconsistency as to how large the worm actually is.
  • When first seen, it is easily distinguished as being about triple or quadruple Sandy's height, however, when chasing SpongeBob and Sandy, it seems to have shrunk considerably.
  • When SpongeBob and Sandy were riding it, the worm seemed to have grown once again.
  • Lastly, it was large enough to land on and crush the entire city.
  • Likewise, at the beginning of the episode, it was small enough to travel through the city to eat buildings.
• The Alaskan Bull Worm is also mentioned at the beginning of "Sandy's Surf Adventure" from the 2003 Jakks Pacific SpongeBob SquarePants Plug 'n Play TV Game.
• In "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm," the worm's tongue looked like a smaller worm, but in "My Leg!" it had a regular tongue.
• The sounds that the Alaskan bull worm makes are stock roars and bulls. One of those stock roars is from the Kraken in the 1981 Greek mythology fantasy flick Clash of the Titans, along with some of Kong's roars from the King Kong 1976 remake.
• The Alaskan Bull Worm could be based on the Giant Gippsland earthworm, which can reach 3 meters in length.
• In the now-closed Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast ride, the Alaskan Bull Worm can be seen chasing SpongeBob while he thanks the viewers for riding.
