Trivia
- A controversy surrounding the Twitter/X account for the game erupted in June 2025, after it was discovered it used AI-generated images to promote the game.[3][4] The account later apologized, claiming "this will not happens again" and that they "truly respect our art team and the creative legacy of the SB universe."[sic][5]
Episode references
- Players who sign up to this game via email are given a free profile picture of CoolBob SmoothPants from the episode "Mind the Gap."
- During the opening cutscene, one of the channels on Patrick's TV shows a brief clip of ChefBob from the episode of the same name.
- One of SpongeBob's idle animations is wiggling his body and shuffling his arms from "I ♥ Dancing."
- SpongeBob sometimes uses a reef blower to get rid of debris. The reef blower uses the design from the episode of the same name.
- Patrick sometimes gets rid of debris by whacking it with a pillow, similar to how he whacked his rock on SpongeBob in "Home Sweet Pineapple."
- Locations that appear as part of the game's story mode include the following:
- Jellyfish Fields
- New Kelp City ("What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?")
- Atlantis ("Neptune's Spatula")
- Glove World!
- Chum Bucket
- Medieval Moments, King Krabs' castle, and Planktonamor's tower ("Dunces and Dragons")
- the Cephalopod Lodge from the episode of the same name.
- Viking's ship ("Dear Vikings")
- Karate Island from the episode of the same name
- Flying Dutchman's ship
- Lost and Found from the episode of the same name
- Crystal Dave, Sunshine, and Moon Gills ("There's a Sponge in My Soup") run a shop where the player can exchange crystals for items.
- Forever Glue ("Stuck in the Wringer") is a usable building ingredient that's created from chum.
- In Jellyfish Fields, SpongeHenge from the episode of the same name, Jelly ("Squid Noir"), and Jellyfish Rock (Battle for Bikini Bottom) appear. Additionally, Kevin, the King Jellyfish, and the Jellyspotters ("I'm Your Biggest Fanatic") appear.
- Kevin appears to be the leader of the club and Patrick is not in it, despite being kicked out and Patrick became the new leader by the time of "Mooned!"
- In New Kelp City, The Bubble Poppin' Boys, Mayor, and Mayor stand ("Whatever Happened to SpongeBob") appear.
- In Atlantis, both Princess Mindy and Triton are present with the series design for King Neptune being used. Additionally, the Bikini Bottom Museum ("Atlantis SquarePantis") is a location both within Atlantis and a building players can place in their Bikini Bottom.
- In the Glove World! portion of the game, several attractions from previous episodes including the Fiery Fist O' Pain, The Mitten, and the Tunnel of Glove appear.
- At the Chum Bucket, one of the pieces of wreckage players can clear away is a billboard saying, "Chum is metabolic fuel" from "Chum Bucket Supreme." Additionally, The Takeoverer ("King Plankton") is present as the machine that caused the jellyfish jam to cover the world in the first place.
- In Lost and Found, the Tylosaurus, Ginger, and the other lost kids appear. Macadamia, Hazelnut, and Pistachio ("Sandy's Nutty Nieces") are shown fiddling around with a time machine ("SB-129"). They activate it and are sent to the future with SpongeBob and Patrick in the Future (2000 years later) level. Soon, after finishing the level, they are sent way back to the prehistoric era in the Primordial Sea level ("SB-129", "Ugh"). They eventually find Sandy and help her defeat the evil Sandroid ("Welcome to Binary Bottom") before it inflicts any harm in the timeline.
- The Sugar Squeeze cart from the Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode of the same name appears as an unlockable building. Several items from past episodes are used to create it including:
- Kelp Nougat Crunch ("Rock Bottom")
- Donut ("The Donut of Shame")
- Candy glove ("Rock Bottom")
- Sandy's birthday cake ("Feral Friends")
- Chocolate bar ("Chocolate with Nuts")
- A vending machine from "Rock Bottom" is an unlockable building which allows players to convert the following items into energy:
- The Medieval Moments world and its following levels are loosely based off the events of "Dunces and Dragons."
- Madame Hagfish and the giant eel ("The Curse of the Hex") appear in those levels. Dream Gary ("Sleepy Time") only appears in the Doom Tower level.
- From October 19 to November 2, 2023, an event based off The Patrick Star Show episode "Lost in Couch" was featured. In this event, SpongeBob, instead of Patrick, ventures into the couch to retrieve Patrick's wallet. The episode's title is also used as the name of the event. As of April 9, 2024 this event is still accessible after progressing to a certain point in the game's story.
- In Old Man Jenkins' pile of toys, the player pieces for Eels and Escalators ("Sailor Mouth") are amongst the junk.
- In this event the TV remote and Sock-a-dactyls appear as characters.
- SpongeBob's inward cheeks were used for the cutscenes and challenges, while his outward cheeks were used for his in-game sprite.
- Man Ray is the only character who doesn't have his liar level, instead he in the Lost in Couch event.
Errors
- There are two spelling errors on Mr. Krabs' introduction/unlock screen. He is called a "Buisness Man" instead of a "Business Man" and a "Penny Pitcher" instead of a "Penny Pincher."
- Sometimes when the user watches a video ad for energy, coins or gems, the user does not get the award even after playing the video.
