The Ice Cream King is a starfish who owns a large ice cream store. He first appears in the episode "Patrick's Coupon."
Description
He is an overweight pink starfish who looks very similar to Patrick although he is a lighter shade of pink. He wears a cone-patterned skirt and a golden crown which is too small to properly fit him. He also has pimples all over his body, some of them sprouting hair. His appearance overall resembles strawberry ice cream in a cone topped with cherries.
In "The Nitwitting," his crown is replaced by a red propeller hat with a crown emblem on it.
Personality
He is a lot like Patrick, having a dimwitted nature, an example of this being when he does not know what year it is, which can imply he is a recluse. However, despite being considered dim witted, he managed to start his own business as well as construct the interior of a rock house shaped like 3 scoops of ice cream on top of a mountain as his residence unlike Patrick, in which the rock primarily serves as a door. Because of their similar behavior, the two got along immediately and when competing they showed respect to one another. The Ice Cream King even accepted his defeat from Patrick and gave him a free ice cream though it was really one from his armpit. In "The Nitwitting," he is smart enough to recognize who is dumb and who is not when he kicks SpongeBob out of the Empty Head Society for not being dumb enough.

"Patrick's Coupon"
When Patrick arrives at the Ice Cream King's mansion, he is pulled inside by him. After some conversation, the Ice Cream King gives his glasses to Patrick so he can read the fine print on his coupon, which causes the Ice Cream King to initiate "the king's challenge" after realizing what is written.
The Ice Cream King and Patrick then participate in a hair growing contest, which the Ice Cream King loses after Patrick grows armpit hair. Later, the two fight each other in order to prove that Patrick can redeem his coupon. After the battle, the Ice Cream King honors Patrick's coupon and gives him an ice cream cone which he kept in his hairy armpit.
"The Nitwitting"
He appears as the president of the Empty Head Society. At first he accepts SpongeBob to join the society, but when SpongeBob says "maybe their pockets were full" during the nitwitting, he tells SpongeBob that he does not fit in his society and kicks him out.
"SpongeBob on Parade"
He is a co-host of the Bikini Bottom Parade, alongside Perch Perkins. The Ice Cream King is surprised at Perch being a real person and not just appearing on TV. He repeatedly gets confused and sidetracked while commentating, such as thinking Mrs. Puff is a parade balloon. At the end of the parade, the Ice Cream King rides off on Mrs. Puff.
"The Goobfather"
When the Goobfather and Mr. Krabs are fighting over who has permission to sell ice cream, the Ice Cream King comes floating by in his blimp. He declares that ice cream should be for everyone and bring joy, which leads the two to stop fighting. The Ice Cream King continues that he will drop an ice cream bomb if they do not stop, unaware that they have already reconciled. He drops the bomb on Bikini Bottom and covers the town in ice cream.
"A Taste of Plankton"
He appears as a cameo at the Chum Eating Contest.
The Patrick Star Show
"Ice Cream Headache"
The Ice Cream King and Squidina try to bait a monster, revealed to be Patrick, with chum. Their truck is destroyed, and the salesman is swallowed by Patrick. Determined to stop Patrick, the Ice Cream King uses himself as bait. Squidina suggests an ice cream-eating contest instead, which the Ice Cream King wins. As a solution for the eaten ice cream, Patrick is turned into an ice cream dispenser in the Goofy Goober truck.
Trivia
- He is voiced by Peter Browngardt, creator and voice actor of Uncle Grandpa. When he talks, his voice sounds slightly softer than Patrick's.
- In the German dub, he is voiced by Marco Kröger, who voiced Patrick Star in this dub from season 1 until season 8 before being replaced by Fritz Rott from season 8 onwards.
- In the Hebrew dub, but only in "Patrick's Coupon," he is voiced by Liron Burns, who voiced Patrick Star in this dub. Starting with "The Nitwitting", he is voiced by Eran Mor.
