The germs are enemies that Sandy fights in the video game sequence in "Atlantis SquarePantis."

Description

There are currently 4 known types of germs:

• A blue, circular germ with a large mouth that has 3 large fangs.
• A long-legged germ that is hiding under a red shell with spikes poking out of it.
• A green caterpillar-like germ with four segments.
• A yellow germ with a large orange protrusion growing from its head.

Role in episode

Sandy fights them in her musical number to get to the Aggressive Case of the Sniffles while playing Mission Start: The Germ Warrior.

Trivia

• They may be based on the viruses from the Nintendo video game Dr. Mario.
  • In addition, the spiked shell germ resembles the Spiny, an enemy from the Mario video games.
• SpongeBot SteelPants' laugh can be heard when the germs are chasing SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward. This audio is recycled from the SpongeBob SquarePants video games Battle for Bikini Bottom and Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated.
