Characters

Synopsis

Patrick is about to watch TV and enjoy a snack when he sees his parents about to throw out his baby toys. When he confronts them, Bunny says Cecil needs room for his home theater, which houses an entire room of actors. After reminiscing on his old stuff, Patrick asks if he can keep it if he acts like a baby. Bunny hesitantly agrees, so Patrick dresses as a baby and starts playing with his toys. To get him to snap out of it, Bunny tells Cecil that they have to treat him like a baby until he gets sick of it.

When the family eats pizza, Bunny refuses to let Patrick have any and gives him baby food. Cecil doesn't let Patrick watch wrestling, and after his tantrum, takes him for a ride in the car to get him to sleep. Patrick falls asleep, but Squidina then calls him in to do the show. Patrick continues acting like a baby and poops his diaper on stage, leading Squidina to call in a cartoon as a distraction: Captain Quasar in Diapers. In the cartoon, baby Quasar and Pat-Tron are about to be attacked by Saladrian aliens. The Saladrians reconsider when seeing how cute the babies are, and Quasar and Pat-Tron take advantage of this to blast the aliens' ship.

SpongeBob arrives to go jellyfishing with Patrick, but Bunny tells him Patrick is busy acting like a baby today. Patrick wants both his toys and to go jellyfishing, but Bunny prevents him from going. SpongeBob offers to babysit Patrick as a means to get him to act like an adult again. He takes Patrick to Goofy Goober's, where babies are not allowed to have ice cream. Patrick refuses to give in. SpongeBob eats ice cream to tempt Patrick, but Patrick eats SpongeBob's sundae. SpongeBob finally gets angry and yells at Patrick to stop being a baby. A Goofy Goober employee bans SpongeBob from the restaurant for life for letting Patrick eat ice cream. SpongeBob cries, also turning into a baby.

The employee returns baby SpongeBob and Patrick back home. Overworked, Bunny tries to pass SpongeBob on to Squidina, who immediately changes into a baby to avoid babysitting SpongeBob. Cecil and Bunny give up on the three babies and become babies too. The series turns into Baby Stars, complete with its own theme song. The babies decide to play "Family", turning into their regular roles on the show. Although they return to normal, GrandPat likes being pampered and starts acting like a baby. Bunny makes Patrick babysit, which he does by leaving GrandPat on the doorstop of an orphanage.

Trivia

General

  • This episode was originally titled "Big Baby Pat," with the only difference being that Patrick's name is no longer shortened in the finalized title.
  • Despite being copyrighted in 2024, this episode was produced, completed, and released on Paramount+ Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
  • This episode aired in the United States exactly three months after it was released early in Australia and New Zealand.
  • This episode and its sister episode were uploaded onto the Nickelodeon UK YouTube channel on September 25, 2024. It was originally region-locked, so it can be viewed in the United Kingdom and Ireland only, but as of October 2024, it got changed so that it's now viewable to anyone outside of these countries.
  • The concept of a character turning into a baby was previously explored in "Squid Baby," though this time it was done willingly.
  • In the UK and Ireland, the title card for "Rasslin' Rumble Rampage" was edited so that the screen does not flash.[5]

Episode references

  • SpongeBob's baby design is reminiscent of the one he had in "Goo Goo Gas."

Cultural references

  • The "Baby Stars" theme song is a parody of the theme song of the 1984 cartoon Muppet Babies.

Errors

  • When SpongeBob and Patrick are sitting down at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat, in the first shot, Patrick is in a holder. In the next shot, Patrick is in a diaper.
