Mystical Misty Mountains
Description
They are large, gray mountains covered in snow. According to SpongeBob, the mountains are beyond the horizon far away from Bikini Bottom. To get there, one must travel through Jellyfish Fields, past the Kelp Forest, and leaving Bikini Badlands. The terrain here is treacherous and extremely dangerous. Guru Greasetrap resides at the peak and Rube Goldfish works here as a tour guide. At the bottom of the mountain, there is a sign with the name of the place and it also reads: "Climb at your own risk."
Fish-made bridge
Near the stand of Rube's Guided Tours there is a fish-made bridge built out of wood planks, but the end is made of branches. Looking down from the bridge, the Chasm of Infinite Bruising is located to the left and the Freezing Pit, a pit of frozen climbers to the right. There is an elevator at the end of the bridge, and a sign that draws attention to the danger.
Mountain top
The mountain top is very high, beyond the clouds, where Guru Greasetrap lives. He usually does his sacred snoring ritual on a big rock, but he can be woken up with a bell on another rock. He has a storage area with a door for his anvils and hammers. He has a forge in which he can melt iron and pour it into a rock with a spatula mold to make spatulas. Guru Greasetrap has a sun lounger where he can relax and watch his TV.
Parking lot
At the bottom of the mountain range is the Mystical Misty Mountains Parking Lot, whose name is written on a wood sign. There are many parking spaces, but only Rube's boat is parked there because he is the only one working on the mountain.
Role in episode
After SpongeBob's spatula breaks, he goes on a journey to the Mystical Misty Mountains to get his spatula reforged by Guru Greasetrap. On the way up the mountain, he accidentally loses his backpack. However, he meets Rube, who offers to help him across a rickety bridge. Rube promptly abandons him and leaves SpongeBob to climb the mountain himself.
SpongeBob meets Greasetrap at the top of the mountain. When SpongeBob tries to help him get his tools, he ends up injuring him. Thus, Greasetrap teaches SpongeBob to repair the spatula himself. After many tries, he says that he cannot reforge it and reminds him that his true spatula is in his heart. SpongeBob finally manages to reforge it, and Greasetrap kicks him back down the mountain so he can get to work on time.
