Synopsis
Sandy heads home from the Nut Barn with a supply of nuts, when she runs into an incomplete marble structure and cracks her helmet. She runs home and takes out her backup helmet, which slips out of her grip from the nut dust. She calls for a new helmet, but they are out and will take six to eight weeks to deliver. Sandy is stuck inside and quickly exhausts all the things she likes to do within an hour.
She is driven insane by being alone and calls her friends, but they are all busy. She decides to visit them using remote security drones. However, Mrs. Puff, Larry, and Mr. Krabs are all doing boring things. Her drone then crashes into the marble structure, which has been fully built by Plankton. She moves closer, but Plankton hits the drone away, thinking it is a mosquito. Sandy decides to call SpongeBob to help her spy on Plankton, but SpongeBob is out exploring for mustard mines, where he is then attacked by a gorilla. She then calls Patrick, who agrees and comes to her house. With a camera taped to his head, he goes back to the statue and searches for clues. While Plankton is away, Patrick eats his lunch and finds a box of plutonium.
Sandy fears that Plankton is building an atomic weapon, which is pointed at the Krusty Krab. In preparation, she uses her own laser and aims it at the statue. Then, Plankton returns and prepares to reveal his invention to Patrick, which is simply a billboard advertising his restaurant. Just then, Sandy's laser hits the billboard, making it smash the Krusty Krab. While not part of his plan, Plankton is satisfied with it, nonetheless.
While the Krusty Krab is being repaired, Sandy hosts the restaurant in her treedome. Just after her new helmet arrives, it is crushed by a new Krusty Krab delivery. Realizing she will need to stay inside for another six to eight weeks, Sandy completely loses her sanity.

Storyboards
- Directed by Ian Vazquez, storyboarded by Zeus Cervas, plussed by Kyle Morrison and Austin Faber.[1][6]
Production notes
Kyle Morrison:
- Morrison called "Dome Alone" "a favorite episode with [their] favorite character [Sandy], [and] getting to board the montage where she goes stir crazy indoors was a ton of fun."[1]
- Morrison's drawing tablet broke in the middle of storyboarding Sandy's hour-long montage, continuing work on their iPad while the replacement came, saying that "some parts are [drawn] rougher than others."[1]
- This is somewhat similar to Sandy's own problem in the episode, where she breaks her helmet, and must deal with the only other option of staying inside.
