Characters

Synopsis

The episode begins with a morning shot of the sun rising at Squidward's house. Two sea bunnies hop inside through an open window as they join in waking up Squidward. Then, the doorbell rings and the animals attack Squidward. Squidward answers the door to meet a disguised figure, who tries to sell him chattering teeth, snapping gum, and steak knives. Squidward sees through the figure's disguise, revealing the seller to be his dad. Jeffy says that he plans on staying a few days in his son's house, and unpacks his luggage, much to his son's anger. Jeffy is impressed by Squidward's artwork, saying that he loves clown paintings. Jeffy also has his son play the clarinet, much to the father's amusement as the clarinet is a gag product. Squidward states that this will be the "longest few days of [his] life."

Squidward tries to read the newspaper, but accidentally rips it apart after his father's honking startles him. He then sees that his father is showing off his gag products to SpongeBob and Patrick, who are amused by the rubber chicken. Jeffy shows off various more gag products to them, which are more horns. SpongeBob and Patrick are then surprised find out that Jeffy is Squidward's father. Patrick adds that he thought Mr. Krabs was Squidward's dad. Squidward tries to take Jeffy with him, but his father pleads that it's just harmless fun. SpongeBob and Patrick then electrocute each other with joy buzzers. Squidward leaves as Jeffy offer to help SpongeBob and Patrick up, but shocks them again as the three of them all laugh. Squidward closes his curtains and tries to get some sleep, specifically 23 and a half hours. However, a whoopee cushion goes off in his mattress as his dad, SpongeBob, and Patrick laugh. Squidward yells for them to leave him alone, then throws an alarm clock to knock them over. However, they aren't harmed as they have a rubber ladder.

Jeffy unzips a small white box, which expands to reveal his shop "Jeffy T's Prankwell Emporium." Jeffy uses a megaphone to announce his store, which annoys Squidward. Patrick says that Jeffy makes him laugh, and Squidward just makes him sad. Jeffy then says that Squidward is hilarious in his own right, and says that naming his son Squidward despite being an octopus was "one of his best pranks." SpongeBob asks if he and Patrick can see more of Jeffy's novelty gags, to which he pranks SpongeBob by holding a fake hand out for a handshake. He hands Patrick some polka-dot soap, which he rubs in his eyes. Jeffy then squirts disappearing squid ink onto SpongeBob, which makes his lower body disappear. Patrick then tries a bombsicle, which explodes and leaves behind a giant hole in his head. Jeffy tells them that he has been working on "the ultimate gag," which is not ready yet as he cannot figure it out. SpongeBob and Patrick offer to help him out, and Jeffy brings them to his "test kitchen" (which is just Squidward's kitchen).

Jeffy tells SpongeBob and Patrick that he has planted gags all over the kitchen. Squidward tries to pour a bowl of cereal, but nothing comes out. Pieces of rice ("rice lice") land on Squidward's body, making him itch. Squidward then sets a pot on the stove, which sets on fire. This turns out to be Jeffy's flammable pot, which Squidward tries to extinguish with what he thinks is a fire extinguisher, but is actually a "fire re-stinguisher." Jeffy gives Squidward a squirting flower, which squirts out instant bread that Squidward gets stuck in.

Having enough of his father's sales pitches, Squidward goes somewhere where there will not be any fun: the Krusty Krab. However, he reaches into the register and pulls out a rubber dollar bill that hits him in the face. He gets out the register to go tell Mr. Krabs, but sees spilled food on the floor, which he refuses to clean up. SpongeBob asks what is wrong, while wearing rubber teeth. Squidward points out that his teeth look weird, and SpongeBob tells him about the gags he bought from Jeffy, picking up the rubber spill. Angered, Squidward runs over to what he thinks is Mr. Krabs, but is actually a rubber figure of him, of which Jeffy was hiding behind. Squidward screams that he cannot take the gags anymore, and runs out. On top of the Krusty Krab, Patrick is holding a giant water balloon, which he throws directly at Squidward, which electrocutes him as it was full of jellyfish.

Later at night, Jeffy is sleeping on Squidward's sofa. Squidward takes a pillow and swaps Jeffy's suitcase with it. Upstairs, Squidward uses the suitcase to make some pranks his father will "never forget." In the morning, a crazed Squidward comes out with a mystery box. He approaches Jeffy, who is cleaning his novelty teeth, and gives him the box. Jeffy opens the box, and a boxing glove comes out to punch him in the face, which he is delighted by. The box then hits him with a pie with itching cream, then hits him with a stink bomb, a fire extinguisher that sets him on fire, a chicken pterodactyl, and a balloon full of jellyfish. Squidward grins as Jeffy is electrocuted off-screen, who says that the box is in fact the ultimate gag. The box then fills Jeffy's head with water, brings out a lady to slap him, and puts an upside-down sombrero hat onto him as he gets mauled by a sea bear. SpongeBob and Patrick are in awe, and they are each given their own box by Squidward. They open the boxes to get beat up as well, and Jeffy says that Squidward takes after him, thanking him for figuring out his ultimate gag. Jeffy says that he will pack his bags and show the ultimate gag to the world. Squidward, now content, licks a bombsicle that explodes his head off. The episode ends with him laughing sarcastically.
