Coupe is the name of a sentient platinum self-driving boatmobile that appears in the episode "Drive Happy" as the main antagonist. It later makes a cameo in the episode "Upturn Girls," and appears later in the Roblox experience SpongeBob Simulator.

Description

He is a white platinum self-driving boat mobile with the ability to talk through a speaker.

Template:Data:Links buys Coupe at Bikini Bottom Boats and shows him off to Template:Data:Links and Mrs. Puff, who are very surprised that he obtained such fancy machinery.

After a long day of driving, SpongeBob parks Coupe into his respective lot at his house. Coupe does not like it in the rain and would much prefer being inside, so SpongeBob carves a large quantity of his pineapple house to accommodate Coupe. He spends the night flipping through channels on SpongeBob's TV. Afterwards, he wants to go to sleep, but would prefer sleeping on SpongeBob's bed rather than in the living room, leaving SpongeBob and Template:Data:Links no choice but to sleep outside in the rain.

The following day, SpongeBob uses Coupe to get to work. Template:Data:Links notices SpongeBob driving Coupe and wants to go for a ride in him, which SpongeBob happily allows, while Coupe reluctantly does. After being fed up with Patrick's stupidity, Coupe kicks Patrick out and into the sky.

Due to the disgusting nature of the Krusty Krab, Coupe does not let SpongeBob park him there and instead does what he wants to, which involves being pampered at an auto repair shop. SpongeBob lies by saying that he has to use the bathroom, so Coupe sets him free, unaware of his intentions until he sees SpongeBob in the store with a bag. SpongeBob then buys a steering wheel and implements it to Coupe to get to the Krusty Krab.

To prevent him from getting to work, Coupe restrains SpongeBob with his seatbelts. To escape from his manipulation, SpongeBob buys a triple Krabby Patty with five scoops of ice cream from the drive-thru and throws its contents onto Coupe's technology, interfering with his operation just so he could get to the Krusty Krab.

Coupe is eventually lifted up by Patrick, who wants the ice cream in which Coupe is covered. SpongeBob then decides that his self-driving days are over. As a result, instead of serving as a self-driving vehicle, SpongeBob has Coupe become a kiddie ride outside of the Krusty Krab as punishment for his betrayal. He is repeatedly rode by Patrick, much to Coupe's misery and suffering, thus, karma for his actions.

He can be seen parked outside Upturn's as Template:Data:Links and Narlene arrive.

Role in SpongeBob Simulator

He appears as a mount obtainable for 2,500 Wacky Bucks after reaching Level 4 on the Objectives Shop.

Trivia

General

• He is similar to Le Spatula from the episode "All That Glitters," as both characters are sentient machines, have snobby personalities, dislike the Krusty Krab, and want to live in a fancy place. He is also programmed that way like Le Spatula. However, he is more stubborn than Le Spatula even refusing to let SpongeBob go to work by turning around the vehicle numerous times. Unlike Le Spatula however he is also very demanding to SpongeBob as to where he wants to be such as telling SpongeBob he wants to be inside his house and even telling SpongeBob what he wants him to do for him.
• Although Coupe is the first kiddie ride to be installed outside of the Krusty Krab, Scooter also mistakes Mystery as one in "My Pretty Seahorse," when SpongeBob parks her outside of the building.

Cultural references

• His name is a reference to coupe cars, a type of car that has two doors only.
• His face bares a strong resemblance to Emperor Zurg from the Toy Story film series.
