Robot Krabs is a robotic dummy of Mr. Krabs that first appears in the episode "Imitation Krabs." He is also mentioned in the episode "Krab Borg."
Description
Robot Krabs is a highly sophisticated robot that has many different features. Inside, from where Plankton controls him, there are hundreds of levers and pulleys to make the robot do many things. The robot is red and constructed from metal, with a metal suit as stated by SpongeBob. He has big eyes and his face acts and looks like a microphone. The robot appears to wear the same clothing as Mr. Krabs, but made from metal.
The robot has a self-destruct device activated by a penny inserted through a coin slot on his belt buckle. He can also disguise himself as a bread toaster.
One of the giveaways that the robot is not Mr. Krabs is that it periodically emits an exhaust fume with an audible noise from an exhaust pipe at the rear whenever it lies.
Role in series
"Imitation Krabs"
Plankton creates and controls the robot. It is accidentally destroyed at the end of the episode by SpongeBob when he puts a penny into the Self-Destruct Coin Slot, causing the robot and the Chum Bucket itself to be destroyed.
"Krab Borg"
SpongeBob and Squidward mistakenly believe the real Mr. Krabs to be a robot after seeing him exhibit all the features akin to robots in movies. They misleadingly cite him as "Robot Krabs" at one point.
"New Leaf"
It makes a cameo appearance in Mr. Krabs' closet, in which he keeps Plankton's old machines used in his attempts to steal the formula.
"Spy Buddies"
He appears to be rode in by Plankton. It may be possible that Plankton got Robot Krabs out of Mr. Krabs' closet.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
He appears pictured on Plankton's "wall of failures" in the Chum Bucket, and his physical arm also appears broken on the laboratory floor in a later shot.
Plankton: The Movie
He is seen in concept artwork of Plankton's Basement of Failures but does not appear in the final film.

Revenge of the Flying Dutchman
Plankton disguises as Robot Krabs to trick Patrick into delivering intercepted Krabby Patty orders before SpongeBob, until SpongeBob points out he's not Mr. Krabs.
Reef Rumble
Robot Krabs is an unlockable character by completing tournament mode and is also the final boss.

Nicktoons Freeze Frame Frenzy
Plankton was seen in Robot Krabs when the player enters the Krusty Krab.
SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis
Mentioned by Plankton in the console version during tank levels. Specifically when he says, "This is like maneuvering the Robot Krabs."
SpongeBob's Game Frenzy
In this game, there is a mini-game based on the episode "Imitation Krabs." Players have to avoid placing the coin in the Self-Destruct Coin Slot. If they succeed, Mr. Krabs himself bats the robot to the side and takes the coin. Failure causes the robot to charge toward the Chum Bucket, destroying it once again.

- In one of the deleted scenes for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Mr. Krabs transforms into Robot Krabs. However, this was not included on the DVD/Blu-ray release.
- In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Mr. Krabs has a robot alter-ego called Sir Pinch-a-Lot.
- Robot Krabs' role himself is similar to robotic doppelgängers of fictional creatures such as Mechani-Kong and Mechagodzilla.
