Plankton's tank robot
Plankton's tank robot, also known as the Gate Guardian in SpongeBob Simulator is a tank owned by Plankton that can transform into a robot. It first appears in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, and later appears as a robot in the episode "There Will Be Grease."
Description
Tank
Plankton's tank is green with some yellow and red on different parts of it. It appears that the inside of the cannon is red and the tip is colored yellow to look like his eyeball.
Robot
The giant robot looks similar to Plankton, except for the massive size difference. The robot has two large arms, two long legs, a large red eye, and a cylindrical body similar to Plankton. Plankton can sit in the robot and control it by pushing the antenna-like levers.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water
The tank robot is first dropped from Air Plankton when its wings fall off the condiment blaster. It then starts to shoot potatoes at the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob continues to shoot ketchup and mustard while Patrick is still holding the mayonnaise. Eventually, Patrick cannot hold the mayo any longer and throws it at the tank, stopping it. However, the tank then turned into its robot form and continued on. It eventually reached the Krusty Krab, but ran out of gas shortly afterwards.
Plankton: The Movie
The tank robot appears in the background in the Chum Bucket's basement, as Plankton discusses with SpongeBob how he can stop Karen's rampage in Bikini Bottom.
Role in episodes
"There Will Be Grease"
The tank robot appears in a brainstorming session from Plankton of what to do with the grease where he suggests using it as lubricant for killer robots.
Role in video games
SpongeBob HeroPants
The tank robot appears as the boss of the War Zone world in this game.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers
The tank robot appears trapped in slime in the background of the Bikini Bottom Boogie Nights race track.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
Plankton, riding a modified tank robot named Mecha-Plankton, is a playable character. The robot is much smaller (though still larger than the other characters) and is equipped with ketchup blasters on each wrist. Karen is inside the robot, and emerges for certain attacks and animations.
SpongeBob Simulator
It appears as the Gate Guardian along with Plankton guarding entrances to new areas where the player will have to battle it. They also appear as boss battles in Bottom Feeder Lane.

Trivia
- Plankton's tank robot is the only character in SpongeBob HeroPants to have an actual boss fight. The other "boss fights" for Squidasaurus Rex and SpongeBob's mind are simply a chase sequence and a normal level respectively.
- There is a Mega Bloks SpongeBob SquarePants set depicting this vehicle, called the Pickle Tank Attack.
