They are spawned by Arfs, and they first appear in the Mermalair as the tenth robot Template:Data:Links encounters in his adventures, first seen being sent by an Arf to attack a sponge on a hook in its introductory cutscene.

Trivia
- Error: Despite its Most Wanted description stating that an Arf Dawg "chases squirrels," Template:Data:Links cannot encounter an Arf Dawg normally.
- Unlike other robots, Arf Dawgs do not drop Shiny Objects, possibly to prevent players from letting an Arf spawn them infinitely for more. They share this trait with jellyfish (which are not robots).
