"Dear Friend" is an opera aria written by Aaron Springer, sung by SpongeBob to persuade Patrick to become his friend again. It is sung in the episode "Squidward's School for Grown-Ups."

Lyrics

SpongeBob: Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
As long as I breathe, I will cherish our bond!
Squidward: Terrible!
SpongeBob: Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
My heart bounces on rocks!
Jagged and gray!
Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
Let's stay pals!
What do you say?

Trivia

  • This is one of the few opera songs sung in the series.
  • This is the fourth song in which SpongeBob's singing voice is completely different than his regular voice. The first was "Ripped Pants," the second was "Band Geeks", and the third time was "Choir Boys."
  • SpongeBob's outfit is olden time unlike his modern-day clothing. It is different than what is normally seen.
