"Dear Friend" is an opera aria written by Aaron Springer, sung by SpongeBob as his plan to rescue Patrick from his brainwashing state by Squidward and persuade him to become his friend again during the climax of the episode "Squidward's School for Grown-Ups."

Lyrics

Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
As long as I breathe, I will cherish our bond!
Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
My heart bounces on rocks!
Jagged and gray!
Dear friend, don't say that it's all over!
Let's stay pals!
What do you say?

Trivia

  • This is one of the few opera songs sung in the series.
  • This is the fourth song in which SpongeBob's singing voice is completely different than his regular voice. The first was "Ripped Pants," the second was "Band Geeks," and the third time was "Choir Boys."
