"Best Day Ever" is a SquarePants episode from season four. It first aired on November 10, 2006 after a 24 hour marathon with the same title, along with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. In February 1-2 2008, the Best Day Ever marathon will premiere on Nickelodeon in Australia.
Brief Summary: SpongeBob sacrifices his perfect day to help his friends.
*Best Day Ever,Verse 1 & Refrain
SpongeBob starts the episode by waking up and singing the song "Best Day Ever," and he describes to Gary what he plans to do on this day: do his "perfect" job at the Krusty Krab, practice karate with Sandy, go jellyfishing with Patrick using his new high-tech net, and at the end of the day, attend Squidward's big clarinet recital. However, SpongeBob's "Best Day Ever" does not turn out as he plans. He goes to the Krusty Krab, only to find it condemned due to a severe nematode infestation. He then tells the nematodes to leave, but they eat his pants instead. SpongeBob begins playing the "Best Day Ever" song with his nose, causing the nematodes to follow him similar to The Pied Piper of Hamelin. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to keep playing and lead them as far away as possible, and he does so until they all fall asleep (including SpongeBob).

The episode starts out with the song, "Best Day Ever." Afterward, SpongeBob's "Best Day Ever" does not turn out as he planned when he has to postpone his activities to help his friends with their problems. He wanted to work at the Krusty Krab, have some karate with Sandy, go jellyfishing with Patrick using his new high-tech jellyfishing net, and then go to Squidward's clarinet recital. First he ran over to the Krusty Krab, only to find that it was condemned due to a severe nematode infestation. SpongeBob led them away by playing the flute on his nose, which caused them to become hypnotized and fall asleep, like the story of the Pied Piper. He then goes to Sandy's treedome for karate, but Sandy says that she is too busy with a leak in her dome that is letting water in. SpongeBob fixes it as he goes flying to the roof and his karate glove sticks to the crack. Afterwards, he heads over to Jellyfish Fields to go jellyfishing with Patrick, but Patrick broke his net, and then broke SpongeBob's old net. SpongeBob gives Patrick his brand-new net, and had nothing to Jellyfish with. SpongeBob meets up with Squidward, who says that he cannot play in the concert because his clarinet reed is shot. Angry because most of his day is ruined, SpongeBob pulls out one of his teeth to replace the reed. Finally, SpongeBob goes to Squidward's concert, but the doorman will not let him in without a ticket, which he does not have. He tries various methods of sneaking in such as a fake SpongeBob marionette as a distraction, and cutting through the ceiling, but at last he is let in because he is on the VIP list. However, he gets in right as the concert ends. He is very mad that everything went wrong and gives a long and elaborate speech about how his Best Day Ever got ruined. But then, his friends tell him about how SpongeBob helped them with their problems out of his kindness and teach him it's not about "perfect days", it's about having friends. But to make it up to him, they hold a production in which SpongeBob performs his song, "The Best Day Ever", to complete his real Best Day Ever with his friends by his side. After a few hours SpongeBob is still singing, but his friends are tired and sleepy.
He then goes to Sandy's Treedome for karate, but Sandy is busy trying to fix a leak in the roof of her Treedome. SpongeBob thinks that this is a trap, and attacks her anyway. Sandy hits him and sends him flying up to the roof, and his glove sticks to it, sealing the leak. Afterwards, SpongeBob heads over to Jellyfish Fields to go jellyfishing with Patrick, but Patrick explains that he has broken his net. SpongeBob gives him his old net to use, but he quickly breaks it as well. Finally, SpongeBob gives Patrick his brand-new net and sits there watching as Patrick has fun jellyfishing with it.
Finally, when SpongeBob goes to Squidward's clarinet recital, Squidward tells him that he cannot play in the concert because his clarinet reed is shot. SpongeBob pulls out one of his teeth to replace the reed, and angrily demands Squidward to put on the show, frustrated that the majority of his "Best Day Ever" is ruined. When SpongeBob tries to enter the concert, the doorman will not let him in because he does not have a ticket. He tries various methods of sneaking in, but is caught every time. Eventually, the doorman realizes who SpongeBob is (Mrs. Puff said his name while hiding in her purse), and lets him in because he is on the VIP list. However, the concert ends just as SpongeBob gets into his seat, and then he finally loses it.
*This episode aired in the United States before Germany, when most season 4 episodes aires in Germany first.
*On The Complete 4th season Volume 2 DVD, there are bonus shorts (A Random Act of SpongeBob shorts) and a karaoke music video using episodes of Spongebob.
*At the theater, SpongeBob was explaining how he was having his best day ever. When he said he was going jellyfishing with Patrick, Patrick forgot what he was going to say. When Squidward told SpongeBob the concert would be ruined if SpongeBob hasen't fixed his clarinet, Sandy's tail is white. It then switches to a different point of view, and her tail is brown again.
*During SpongeBob's play, you can see a poorly painted "Krusty Krab" sign. After he flips the patty on the fake grill, the sign changes to "K.K.".
*This episode has never aired in the Netherlands, also "The Gift of Gum" has never aired.
*Squidward's band uniform is a reference to Sgt. Pepper.
*This episode aired with Karate Island before The Gift of Gum aired.
*When the nemitodes ate off the condemned tapes off of the Krusty Krab and shave a skull on it, you can see that the five flags are missing.
*This episode marked the end of the Lowercase/Uppercase Captioning. All uppercase captioning was used in this episode, including the brackets. The first Season, including "Something Smells" and "Bossy Boots" from Season Two used all-Uppercased captioning, except when in the explenation brackets.
*The doorpads are replaced into handles.
*Ironicly, most of the episode is SpongeBob's worst day ever.

Reaching his breaking point, SpongeBob goes up on stage, rips the curtains and starts furiously complaining to the audience about how his "Best Day Ever" was completely ruined. However, his friends go up and remind SpongeBob of how he helped them with their problems out of his kindness, and to make everything up to him, his friends hold a "very expensive" production in which SpongeBob has his real Best Day Ever with his friends by his side (while singing “Best Day Ever again”), and the audience love the show. After hours in the concert hall, SpongeBob is still singing, but his friends are tired and sleepy; as the audience seats are shown to be empty and the janitor is sweeping the floor, Squidward asks how long they have to keep this up, and Mr. Krabs replies with "Just 'til his little heart gives out, Squidward. Just 'til his little heart gives out."
Mr. Sun came up, and he smiled at me

General
*This is the first episode for a few things:
SpongeBob: Whoa! I gotta get to Sandy's! (scene cuts to Sandy's treedome. SpongeBob opens up her door then jumps behind a bush) Wait till Sandy gets a load of these adhesive karate gloves. Hyah! (karate chops the box the gloves were in. Then he chuckles and jumps onto the top of the treedome and sticks due to his gloves. He moves above her tree and falls through it and lands on a tree branch then jumps at her) Hyah! (Sandy ducks and SpongeBob hits her buckets of water)
**The first episode along with its sister to credit Paul Tibbitt as a co-executive producer in the end credits.
**The first episode where Vincent Waller is credited as a creative director instead of a technical director.
**The first episode that Nate Cash and Tuck Tucker worked on as writers and storyboard directors.
Sandy: (standing on a ladder, using a bucket to catch water in) SpongeBob, what on earth are you doing?!
**The first episode to air during the Best Buddies Week event.
**The first episode to play Sneaky Panther Pants.
*On a June 1, 2016 airing, some scenes were skipped, but SpongeBob and Patrick can still be seen for a split second before SpongeBob accidentally hits a light and falls into the stage.
SpongeBob: Oh, just a little something I like to call karate.
*This is the fourth episode to end with a song. The first was "Help Wanted," the second was "Your Shoe's Untied," and the third was "Band Geeks."
*This, "Help Wanted," "Pickles," "Employee of the Month," and "One Krabs Trash" are the only five episodes to have SpongeBob's bed placed on the right side of his room and not the left.[[File:BestDayEverPromoPic.jpg|thumb|260px|Promotional poster, with SpongeBob riding a submarine. *This is the second episode for two things:
Sandy: I can't right now, SpongeBob. I got a leak in my roof the size of a full-grown quarter horse!
**The second appearance of the nematodes, the first being "Home Sweet Pineapple."
**The second episode in which Squidward has issues with his clarinet reed, after "Squidtastic Voyage."
*This is the third and final episode of season 4 to feature the Krusty Krab without Squidward at the restaurant. The first is "Driven to Tears," and the second was "Rule of Dumb."
SpongeBob: Mm-hmm. I see. Ok, then I'll come back later. (walks off but then reappears by Sandy and tries to karate chop her)
*The "Best Day Ever" song was first released as the seventh track on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie soundtrack and the last song that was played in the credits, even though The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was first released on November 19, 2004, nearly two years before this episode premiered on November 10, 2006.
**This makes it the first episode to put emphasis on an already released song. It would be followed by "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" putting emphasis on the already released song, "Don't Be a Jerk."

Sandy: Knock...it...off. (punches SpongeBob up high. The leak stops) It stopped? SpongeBob!
*In "Jellyfishing," SpongeBob and Patrick arrange a "Best Day Ever" for Squidward. It seems different than the one seen in this episode.
**The two episodes were paired together during Best Buddies Week.
*While SpongeBob is playing his nose and starts getting tired as he walks up a hill, the tone of the sound is the same as the "Best Day Ever" song.
SpongeBob: Yeah?
**That scene was reanimated for a McDonald's Happy Meal commercial in 2012, to have SpongeBob wearing his pants instead of his underwear, and he is smiling instead of looking sad.
*On the Season 4 Volume 2, The Complete Fourth Season, 2-Season TV Pack, and The Third & Fourth Seasons DVDs, there are bonus shorts (A Random Act of SpongeBob shorts) and a karaoke music video that are based on this episode.
*According to the episode's production code (151–507), this episode was produced during the beginning of the fifth season's production cycle. The reason it was moved to season 4 might have been due to it being completed earlier than intended.
Sandy: Hang on. I'm going to get some sealant and patch and trowel! (runs into her treedome)
**Similarly, the season 5 episode "Night Light" was produced for this season, but due to being completed outside of the 20 episode order, it was pushed back to the next season.
*The episode's title card background is similar to that of "Pizza Delivery."
*There is an online game based on this episode.
SpongeBob: (groans) Oh. (slips out of his glove and falls. Scene cuts to SpongeBob walking to Jellyfish Fields) Oh. No krabby patties, no karate. At least I have jellyfishing with... **Plug up the leak on the tree dome.
**Share his net.
**Fix the reed on the clarinet.
SpongeBob: Well, lucky for you, I brought my old net. (Patrick grabs it)

Squidward, what's wrong?
Squidward: The concert is ruined. My reed is shot. (shows it) See? I'm finished.
SpongeBob: (slaps Squidward) Pull yourself together, man! I came for a concert, and darn it, I am gonna get one!
Squidward: (sobbing) But my reed! (SpongeBob pulls one of his front teeth out and uses it as a reed)
SpongeBob: Now play!
Squidward: But... (SpongeBob slaps him)
SpongeBob: I said play! (Squidward plays)
Squidward: Not bad. (SpongeBob slaps him again)

SpongeBob: I'm going to see Squidward play his clarinet. Today's my best day ever.
Usher: Where's you're ticket?
SpongeBob: One ticket, coming right up, Captain! (searches his pocket) Must be here somewhere. (takes off his pants and dumps out what is in it) I don't have a ticket.

SpongeBob: (gasps) A reserved seat? Next to my friends? I made it! All I have to do is sit down... (everyone applauds as the curtains close) No...! No! It is not over!
Fish: Huh?
SpongeBob: This was supposed to be my perfect day. But then everything... (a fish gets up and starts to leave) Sit down! (the fish does) Then everything turned to doo-doo. (Mr. Krabs, Patrick and Sandy go upstage with him)
Mr. Krabs: It's okay, SpongeBob.
SpongeBob: No, it's not okay! This was going to be my best day ever, starting with doing the best job in the world: working at the Krusty Krab.
Mr. Krabs: Boy, you saved me barnacle the way you put the run on them nematodes.
SpongeBob: (sniffles) Yeah, I guess so. But then I was going to do karate with Sandy.
Sandy: I know, but you saved the treedome! Pretty cool, if you ask me.
SpongeBob: Well, I suppose. But then I was going to go jellyfishing with Patrick.
Patrick: But then you... Uh, what'd you do again?
Squidward: And, I hate to admit it, but I suppose if you hadn't fixed my reed, the concert would have been a bust.
Mr. Krabs: You see, SpongeBob, it's not about you or your perfect day or any of those things.
SpongeBob: It's not?
Mr. Krabs: No. (giggles) It's about us.
SpongeBob: It is?
Mr. Krabs: Yep. And since you did such a good job, we wanna make it up to you.
SpongeBob: You do?
Mr. Krabs: So, just tell us anything your little heart desires, and it's yours. (SpongeBob smiles and scene cuts to Mr. Krabs coming on stage with the light shining on him) Ladies and gentlemen, tonight, the Bikini Bottom Players proudly present a very expensive production of... "The Best Day Ever." And it better be good for all it's costing me.
Music: "The Best Day Ever (Concert Version)"
Spongebob(singing):My perfect job starts my perfect day
Then it’s time to kick back, relax and play
Sing along
Hear that happy sound
Patrick(singing):Don’t let those sour notes bring you down
Squidward:Hey!
Spongebob:That's where it's at!
Mr.Krabs:I'm not paying for that!
Spongebob(singing):It’s the best day ever (Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever! (Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever! (Best day ever)
(Hours pass and the group is still singing)
Spongebob(still singing):It’s the best day ever! (Best day ever)
Squidward:How long do we have to keep this up?
Mr. Krabs:Just till his little heart gives out, Squidward.
