The Chumstick, also referred to as Chum on a Stick, is one of the main chum food items made by Plankton and sold by the Chum Bucket. They first appear in the episode "Spongicus."
Description
"Spongicus"
They are a dark red rectangle shape on a popsicle stick.
Other appearances
They are in the shape of a corn dog and are also dark red. These have a thinner stick.
They are known for their disgusting taste and making people vomit. The ingredients to the chumstick are revealed in the episode "Spongicus."
Ingredients
Consumers
- Nat Peterson (paid by Karen)
- Patrick Star (actually likes it)
- Incidental 49
Role in series
"Spongicus"
Plankton offers a chumstick to Incidental 49, who later considers going to the Krusty Krab for a Krabby Patty instead after discovering that chumsticks cost 10 dollars. Plankton negotiates with her and Incidental 49 stubbornly agrees to purchase his food.
After taking a bite of the chumstick, she spits it out immediately upon its foul taste.
"Plankton's Regular"
Nat Peterson becomes a frequent customer of Plankton due to his love for chumsticks. However, near the end of the episode, it is revealed that they actually made him sick and he only pretended to like the food so Plankton would stop complaining about his restaurant's poor business.
"The Krabby Kronicle"
Plankton bursts out of the kitchen, eagerly informing Karen of his plans to drive Mr. Krabs out of business with his chumstick. Health Inspector Yellowtail then enters his restaurant to assure him otherwise, due to an article in the Krabby Kronicle that suggests that the Chum Bucket promotes cannibalism.
"Chum Bucket Supreme"
Plankton feeds one to SpongeBob, which causes the disguise he and Mr. Krabs were hiding in to explode. SpongeBob is then seen wiping his tongue with a kitchen sponge, obviously disliking the taste.
"Chum Caverns"
Patrick orders two chumsticks from the eponymous place and slides the contents off using his teeth, actually enjoying them.
"Shopping List"
When Plankton fails to get milk from a fangtooth fish, he ends up making her angry. Plankton attempts to get out of trouble by offering her a chumstick, but the fangtooth fish whacks it away and attacks him.
