The popsicles^[2] are a duo that appear in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and the book The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water - The Junior Novelization.

Description

The popsicles are two conjoined striped popsicles consisting of red, white, purple, and blue colors. They have a pointed tip on the top.

Role in movie

Plankton enters SpongeBob's brain to find the Krabby Patty secret formula. He enters a world of happiness and candy where mostly everything is sentient. During his time there, he hears the popsicles greeting him. As he turns around to see them, they ask him to play with them and Plankton gets scared at the things in SpongeBob's mind. They command him to play with them before they melt and he then becomes even more scared.

The popsicles start laughing as they melt, which causes Plankton to run away from them.

Trivia

The two popsicles are based on a Popsicle called "Red, White, and Blue Turbo Rocket" or "Bomb Pop."
The two popsicles saying, "Come play with us, Plankton!" references the Grady twins from the 1980 horror film The Shining. The Annoying Orange also did something similar.
The two popsicles are voiced by Garfunkel and Oates duo members Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome respectively.
The two popsicles saying "Come play with us before we melt!" was also used as one of the lyrics for the film's song "Squeeze Me."
