Gameplay

Gary is trapped on the other side of a giant crater, and SpongeBob has to save him. The player has to use the left and right arrow keys to move SpongeBob from one bubble to the next, and have to try and cross the crater as fast as possible. SpongeBob can use seahorses to get a speed boost, and can bounce on double bubbles to bounce higher than usual.

There are a few dangers though. Jellyfish will sting SpongeBob if he comes into contact with one and falls down the crater. Scallops and clams can pop the bubble SpongeBob is standing on, and bubbles will burst after standing on them. If SpongeBob falls into the crater, he loses a life. SpongeBob starts with five lives, and can gain more by collecting pearls. If SpongeBob loses all of his lives, the player loses the game and can start over. There is also a time limit in the game which is represented with a ship wheel. If the player runs out of time, the game ends. If SpongeBob reaches the crater with Gary, the player wins the game.
