Synopsis

When they discover the missing half of an ancient amulet, SpongeBob and his friends are transported to the lost city of Atlantis where they accidentally pop the world's oldest living bubble.

Trivia

  • The differences between the episode and the book are:
    • The scene with the camera and the fact that SpongeBob was trying to blow a bubble to last all day is removed and instead, SpongeBob inexplicably blows a giant bubble.
    • The piece of amulet is next to Squidward when he is painting instead of away from him in the episode.
    • The Captain of the Sea Ship Atlantis is replaced with just a computerized voice on the Sea Ship Atlantis.
    • The Singing = fuel element was taken out of the book.
    • The book does not feature the bus crashing.
    • The book says that Plankton snuck on board the Sea Ship Atlantis, instead of having him inexplicably on the ship like the episode.
    • The book says that Plankton overheard the group talking about weapons. In the episode, that never happened.
    • The invention that puts food in Sandy's stomach is invented already in the book. In the episode, she invents it.
    • The book has SpongeBob telling LRH that SpongeBob and Patrick want to see the bubble in the Art Room. In the episode, he tells LRH ways into the tour.
    • In the episode, LRH has an entire speech about the bubble. In the book, it is just summed up in, "But first, please remember the bubble is more than one million years old."
    • The part where Sandy uses the others as weapons is not in the book.
    • They run into the tank inside the castle in the book. In the episode, they run into it outside.
    • The book ends with LRH saying "goodbye" to SpongeBob and friends. The episode has, in addition, a scene where the amulet is thrown away and a song when the group is going home.
