SpongeBob vs. Patrick Splatfest
The SpongeBob vs. Patrick Splatfest[1][2] is a Splatfest event held in collaboration between Nickelodeon and Nintendo on the popular Wii U video game Splatoon. A Splatfest event is an in-game event hosted by non-playable characters, Callie and Marie, where Splatoon players pick a team, such as Roller Coasters or Water Slides, and compete in battles against the opposing team. Both teams get a score, which depends on how popular one side is, and how many battles one side wins.
After 24 hours, the Splatfest ends, and after one hour, the final results are announced. The event is the usual in-game Splatfest competition, however, the two teams were for SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star.
Results
The overall winner of the event was Patrick, with a score of 373 compared to SpongeBob, who had a score of 327. Although SpongeBob was more popular with players, as 57% of participants siding with SpongeBob, Patrick's team was more successful in winning battles, winning 55% of all Splatfest battles.

- The event was referenced in the promotional art for the last Splatfest event for Callie vs. Marie, where the artwork for Marie depicted her with a suitcase that had a keychain of Patrick on it.
- The event was not held worldwide; in Japan, the Splatfest was instead for Tuna Mayonnaise Onigiri vs. Red Salmon Onigiri.
- There were speaking parts for Callie and Marie if SpongeBob won, but due to Patrick winning they were never used.
- In the announcement of the Splatfest, Callie and Marie make a reference to the SpongeBob SquarePants intro and the "Is mayonnaise an instrument?" quote from Patrick in "Band Geeks."
- All of these references are mentioned in the Latin Spanish version too and with its accurate adaptations.
