Laugh Your Pants Off (event)
Laugh Your Pants Off was an event held on Nicktoons in the UK and Ireland on various dates until May 2, 2016.
The Laugh Your Pants Off branding was first used for a marathon of back-to-back SpongeBob SquarePants episodes from 10am to 5:30pm for February half-term.[1] A second run of the event took place for the Easter half-term, starting on March 25, 2016, and airing from 9am to 4pm. Unlike the event held in February, this event included new episodes, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, a competition, and a partnership with intu shopping centres.[2] A final run of the event took place from April 30 to May 2, 2016, airing from 11am to 2pm, and then again from 7pm to 10pm.[3]
Competition
From March 24 to April 22, 2016, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland held a "Laugh Your Pants Off" competition, where viewers were asked to submit videos of themselves imitating SpongeBob's laugh. The competition had more than 1,200 entries and 24 winners. Those who won received a signed certificate from Tom Kenny[4] and a SpongeBob goody bag, which included a puzzle, a Pineapple spin game, and a SpongeBob bubble umbrella.[3] The 24 winning videos were also shown on Nicktoons, as part of the April 30 to May 2 event.[5][6][7]
SpongeBob SquarePants' Laughter Party
From March 25 to April 14, 2016, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland partnered with intu shopping centres to launch a series of SpongeBob-themed activiites titled SpongeBob SquarePants' Laughter Party. The activities included a Laughter Limbo Challenge, Hysterical Prank Classes, Snail Slalom racing, and an Under-Where Pants Hunt. SpongeBob himself made an appearance at some intu centres.[8]
