General

Mr. Krabs' falsetto voice was done by Dee Bradley Baker, as Clancy Brown could not hit the high notes.
Even though Patrick volunteers to be the star on top of their Christmas tree, he is no longer on top of the tree after the song.
In the Tagalog dub, the original audio is replaced with the Tagalog voice actors redubbing the song into English.^[1]
In the Italian dub, this song is left untranslated.
SpongeBob commits at least three crimes during this song: tree felling, breaking and entering, and vandalizing private property.
Squidward sings a mocking rendition of the song to a downhearted SpongeBob that he was right about Santa Claus not showing up.

Cultural references

The tune from some parts of the song (There'll be shopping, decorating, and plenty of snow...) appears to be similar to the Christmas song, "Winter Wonderland." (In the meadow, we can build a snowman...)
This song shares its general melody with the stage music for Labyrinth Zone in the original Sonic the Hedgehog video game for the Sega Genesis.
