SpongeBob's Crazy Carnival Ride

SpongeBob's Crazy Carnival Ride is a shooting dark ride. It opened on March 1, 2024 at Circus Circus Las Vegas in Winchester, Nevada, and opened at The Land of Legends Theme Park in Antalya, Türkiye a year later.

The ride is manufactured by Sally Dark Rides and was constructed with a cost of $6 million. The ride features an animatronic Mr. Krabs that invites guests to play his ride-through carnival midway games, prompting his enemy Plankton to devise an evil plan to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula.

Description

Riders will experience a one-of-a kind adventure through the world of SpongeBob SquarePants in a highly immersive way. The ride starts when Mr. Krabs invites guests to try their luck at his collection of zany ride-through carnival midway games, and his arch-rival Plankton hatches an evil plan to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula once and for all. With five people seated per vehicle, guests can experience the sensory-engaging journey through SpongeBob's world.

Plot

Mr. Krabs welcomes the guest to his carnival where they can play his collection of zany ride-through carnival midway games. Unfortunately, SpongeBob and Patrick run into a problem as the deliveryman did not deliver them the equipment needed for the carnival, but instead, Krabby Patty ingredients. Patrick inadvertently comes up with the idea that they can use the ingredients as the things people use in the carnival games including a bonus game where you have to feed Krabby Patties to Patrick. Plankton overhears this and decides to steal the ingredients as the riders play the game.

The ride ends with Plankton being captured and Mr. Krabs chasing after SpongeBob and Patrick upon learning that they used the Krabby Patty ingredients for the carnival games.

• This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants-themed dark ride to also be released outside of the United States.
• Patrick is the only character in the ride not to appear as an animatronic.
• After the would-be Crash Course Boating School, this is the first dark ride based on SpongeBob SquarePants.
• The Mr. Krabs animatronic was first displayed at the 2023 IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida, until November 17.
• The ride was originally supposed to open during Winter 2023.
