Hill began his career in the 1990s as a television writer, director, and storyboard artist for Rocko's Modern Life, Exit 57, Kablam!, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Kenny the Shark. He also created the KaBlam! skit Action League Now!!: Rock-A-Big-Baby.
Hill directed the live-action family films Muppets from Space, Max Keeble's Big Move, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Hop, and The War with Grandpa.
Hill was also a writer and songwriter for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and worked on the third movie as a writer and director.
Hill is married to actress Veronica Alicino and is also the nephew of director George Roy Hill.[1]
