Revision as of 21:52, 12 April 2021
Every SpongeBob Ever was an event that was supposed to be six days, but turned out to be five days long. The event celebrated the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, similar to 2009's The Ultimate SpongeBob SpongeBash which celebrated the show's 10th anniversary. The event, which aired on Nickelodeon's sister channel, Nicktoons, beginning on Sunday, July 7, 2019, promised to air all 247 episodes of the series in production order, leading up to the premiere of "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" on Friday, July 12.
Following the airing of "InSPONGEiac" on the morning of Thursday, July 11 at 6 AM, the marathon abruptly ended without warning. 15 hours later the marathon resumed but the future episodes aired out of order as opposed to all of the marathon before, which aired in order.[1][2]
The following day, on July 12, had an eleven-hour SpongeBob break starting at 6 AM.
Despite its abrupt break, the 2019 Every SpongeBob Ever event set a record for the longest, continuous marathon of the series yet at 84 hours, surpassing 50 hours of The Ultimate SpongeBob SpongeBash event in 2009.
Both marathons corresponded to a SpongeBob SquarePants anniversary.
The first half of the twelfth season was going to premiere on Nicktoons, but was cancelled due to its abrupt break and changing plans for the season 12 premiere schedule.
During the first event, there was a special version of the Nicktoons screenbug in which "Toons" was in a spongy text and SpongeBob's eyes took the place of the O's.
During the second event, the text "EVERY SPONGEBOB EVER" appeared on top of the regular Nicktoons logo. However, stock art of SpongeBob also appeared along with the text during the first and last minute of all segments.
On March 4 at 6am, all the network's logos temporarily changed to blue, to celebrate the launch of Paramount+. This lasted exactly 2 days.
On March 6 at 6am, an image of an orange blimp with the network's name was used to promote the then-upcoming 2021 Kids Choice Awards for one week. Because of this, the "EVERY SPONGEBOB EVER" subtitle was no longer used.
In addition to the above, there were noticeable Kids Choice Awards advertising errors throughout the broadcasts on Saturday night. This was addressed for the Sunday night airings.
For unknown reasons, "Sandy's Rocket", "Squeaky Boots", "Squiditis" and "Demolition Doofus" were skipped for the 2021 Every SpongeBob Ever event; the latter episodes have been pulled for subsequent television broadcasts after March 15, 2020.[5]
"The Great Snail Race" and "Mid-Life Crustacean" were broadcast for the last time on Nicktoons before they were permanently pulled for subsequent television broadcasts and streaming a month later.
