• The title is a spoof of Jules Verne's 1870 famous novel 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, which revolves around its characters traveling the ocean in a submarine and encountering strange creatures.
  • This novel is also referenced in "20,000 Patties Under the Sea," "Scavenger Pants" and "Terror at 20,000 Leagues."
