Trivia
General

- "Reef Blower"
- "Bubblestand"
- "Naughty Nautical Neighbors"
- "Home Sweet Pineapple"
- "Sandy's Rocket"
- "Nature Pants"
- "Culture Shock"
- "MuscleBob BuffPants"
- "Employee of the Month"
- "Karate Choppers"
- "Arrgh!"
- "Rock Bottom"
- "Walking Small"
- "Fools in April"
- "Neptune's Spatula"
- The following disc covers are based on the episodes that are:
- The first disc contains a preview for other SpongeBob SquarePants VHS tapes and DVDs.
- The version of "Rock Bottom" where SpongeBob's mouth doesn't move when he says, "Another fun-tastic day at Glove World!" is fixed on this DVD.
- "The First Season Crew on..." special is listed as "Recollections from the First Season Crew" on the back of this DVD and the special features menu.
- The "Everybody's Talking: The Voices Behind SpongeBob SquarePants" special is listed as "Everybody's Talking: The Voices of SpongeBob SquarePants" on the back of this DVD and the special features menu.
- The "Bikini Bottom's 7 Life Strategies" special is listed as "SpongeBob's Life Strategies" on the back of this DVD and the special features menu.
- The following specials and music videos are reused from previous SpongeBob SquarePants DVD releases:
- "Drawing the Goo Lagoon" (Tales from the Deep DVD)
- "Bikini Bottom's 7 Life Strategies" (Lost at Sea DVD)
- Violent Femmes Sing SpongeBob (Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies)
- "SpongeBob Scaredy Pants" (Halloween DVD)
- "SpongeBob Dancin' Pants" (Sea Stories DVD)
- This DVD also had a release in the UMD format as part of PlayStation Portable's line of "UMD Video" multimedia discs. It was split into a volume 1 and only a volume 1 along with having no special features.
- "Help Wanted," the pilot episode of the series, was not included on this DVD box set due to copyright issues with Tiny Tim's song "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" being played in this episode. According to Derek Drymon, this is because Nickelodeon did not want to pay Tiny Tim's estate for the rights.[1] However, it is included as a bonus feature on disc 3 of The Complete 3rd Season, 10 Happiest Moments, and The Third & Fourth Seasons DVDs. It is also available as a normal episode on various physical and digital releases.
- This is the first time an episode from a season is excluded from a SpongeBob SquarePants season DVD box set release, the second being "Kwarantined Krab," from The Complete Twelfth Season DVD.
- This is the first SpongeBob DVD release with multiple discs.
- This is the first SpongeBob season DVD box set to not contain any double-length episodes.
- This DVD release was rated PG in Canada for brief and mild violence. This marks the first seasonal DVD release in that country to have this rating. Seasons 2-9 are rated G in Canada.
- On the UK and Australian versions, the only bonus features included are "The Origin of SpongeBob SquarePants" special and "Sing-a-long with SpongeBob SquarePants."
Errors
- On the back of disc 1, the apostrophe in "Sandy's Rocket" is placed too far to the right, just above the "S."
- In the disc 2 episode description of "I Was a Teenage Gary," there is a part that reads, "Gary medicine," instead of "Gary's medicine."
- In the disc 3 episode description of "Neptune's Spatula," there is a part that reads "Worlds Greatest Fry Cook," instead of "World's Greatest Fry Cook," also missing an apostrophe.
- In the episode selection on disc 3, the image for "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II" is not from that episode. The image is actually from "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III," which is not on this DVD box set.
- This error also happens on the Lost at Sea DVD.
- In the closing credits for "Reef Blower" and "Tea at the Treedome," Bill Fagerbakke's name is misspelled as "Bill Faberbakke."
