Nathan Shawn "Nate" Cash (born March 31, 1976; age 49) is a former SpongeBob SquarePants crew member. He joined the show during the end production of season 4, and his first episode was "Best Day Ever," (though (however, the episode in question was produced during season 5, as his actual first episode is Rise and Shine) but he left the show in the middle of season 8, with his last episode being "Patrick's Staycation," following which he was succeeded by Marc Ceccarelli.
He was usually paired up with Tuck Tucker and often wrote episodes based on outlines by Richard Pursel in early season 5. Around the end of season 5, he was paired with Luke Brookshier, following the departure of Tom King; the first episode on which they collaborated was "To Save a Squirrel." Cash would continue to collaborate with Brookshier until his departure two and a half seasons later, with the pair becoming one of the show's most prolific writing teams. He was also paired up with Sean Charmatz for two episodes in season 6 and one episode in season 7 which are "The Splinter," "Krusty Krushers," and "Buried in Time" respectively.
He once worked on Adventure Time: seasons 2 and 3 as a storyboard supervisor; season 4 as a creative director. He left that show after its fifth season.
In a 2009 interview, the one thing he said SpongeBob fans of the show "should know [over the] past ten years, but they don't" is "How to pick up chicks."[1]
