Person

Yosito "Tom" Yasumi (born August 20, 1965; age 60) is a former SpongeBob SquarePants crew member. He was an animation director who frequently collaborated with Alan Smart, Andrew Overtoom, and Michelle Bryan.

In season 1, Tom Yasumi frequently worked with Ennio Torresan, Jr. and Erik Wiese. During seasons 2 and 3, he worked with Walt Dohrn, Kent Osborne and Paul Tibbitt and shared the direction of this team with Andrew Overtoom, except for No Free Rides and The Fry Cook Games where he was paired with Aaron Springer and Jay Lender. From season 4 onwards, the animation directing was swapped between Yasumi, Overtoom and Smart, along with other animators such as Larry Leichliter; however, after Andrew Overtoom left the crew at the end of season 8, Tom Yasumi and Alan Smart became the core animation directors for season 9. He left the series after the production of season 12 to work at Bento Box Entertainment[1] and on the Animaniacs (2020 reboot).
