Template:Person Douglas "Doug" Lawrence Osowski, often credited as Mr. Lawrence, is a SpongeBob SquarePants writer. He is also a main cast member for the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise, voicing Sheldon J. Plankton and various recurring characters.

Doug Lawrence summarized Plankton's origins in 2015, saying that he "was only supposed to be in one or two episodes, but I was a writer on the show and I really liked this character."[1] Following his first voice recording as Plankton, Lawrence wrote some of his own ideas for the character and passed them to Stephen Hillenburg.[1] From then on, Plankton began to appear more often.
