Trivia

General

  • This DVD came out on exactly the same day as the Nicktoons Christmas 2003 DVD.
    • These DVDs were released in September despite being Christmas-themed.
  • The back cover of this DVD contains pictures from these episodes:
  • Advertisements in this DVD case are advertisements for other Nickelodeon DVDs and VHS tapes (also known as "videos") for Rugrats: Christmas (VHS only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Tide and Seek (DVD only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Tales from the Deep (DVD only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Lost at Sea (DVD only), and Rugrats: Mysteries (VHS and DVD). On the other side is a poster of the front cover.
  • The original 2003 DVD includes previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs and VHS tapes. These include Rugrats Go Wild DVD and VHS tape, older SpongeBob DVDs and VHS tapes, The Wild Thornberrys Movie DVD and VHS tape, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius DVDs and VHS tapes, and Tak and the Power of Juju video game trailer.
    • The previews from the 2003 DVD are the same exact previews as those from the Nicktoons Christmas DVD.
  • The 2006 bilingual Canadian re-release and the 2008 re-release of this DVD both include previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include older SpongeBob DVDs, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Book 1: Water, Volumes 1-5 and The Complete Book 1 Collection DVDs, Rugrats Tales from the Crib: Three Jack's and a Beanstalk DVD, and Nick Picks DVDs.
  • Even though the box art and disc are based off "Christmas Who?," the DVD's main menu uses a winter scene from "Snowball Effect."
  • If one listens very closely, SpongeBob can be heard speaking in the main menu albeit at a high pitch and it being illegible on the first hearing. That’s because it’s actually a line from "Snowball Effect" but in reverse, and when reversing the audio you can hear SpongeBob saying, "Patrick you fool! I will now consider your unconditional-" before cutting off and looping.
  • This DVD release originally from 2003 contains the uncut version of "Procrastination," which leaves the scene of Template:Data:Links looking outside his window intact. This scene would be cut from American TV airings in May 2005, twenty months after this DVD was released.
  • This is the first Christmas-themed SpongeBob DVD.
  • This is the first SpongeBob DVD release to use the 2003 Nickelodeon splat logo and impact font cover style.
    • This impact font cover style was sometimes used for some other Nickelodeon DVDs released around that time period too.
  • This is the first SpongeBob DVD in the US to be dubbed in Spanish.
    • This is also the only DVD dubbed in Portuguese.
  • This DVD has been reprinted and repackaged in a few different collections throughout the years:
  • This DVD along with two other DVDs were released in the Collection Triple box set.

Errors

  • On the cover of the Philippine release, the word "episodes" is spelled as "episodess," with an extra letter S.[1]
  • On the cover of the German release, the word "SpongeBob" doesn't capitalise the letter the first letter B in the name making it be spelled as "Spongeb." Paramount Pictures has had had a history in the past where the word is properly capitalised as "SpongeBob" on previous DVD releases.
