It's a SpongeBob Christmas! is a SpongeBob SquarePants DVD that was released on October 30, 2012 in Canada and on November 6 of the same year in the United States. The DVD title is based on the episode of the same name. A special Target edition contains a bonus disc from the Target Corporation, named "It's a Nicktoons Christmas!"

- This DVD also had a digital release on iTunes on the same day in the United States.
- This DVD includes previews for various shows and other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DVD preview, The Legend of Korra DVD preview, Katy Perry: Part of Me on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Download, and Kung Fu Panda Holiday on Blu-ray and DVD.
- In international countries, this DVD includes previews for Dora the Explorer, Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, and Go, Diego, Go!. All of these shows are from Nick Jr.[3]
- A special edition of this DVD was later released in the UK, with the same episodes that were included in the European and Australian versions. Unlike the original version, which was rated PG, the special edition received a U rating from the BBFC.
- The Greek cover has the normal animated versions of SpongeBob and Patrick.
- The initial announcement of this DVD release stated that it would contain three Christmas specials from other Nicktoons as bonus features, but these were dropped from the actual release.[4] However, copies of this DVD sold at Target included an exclusive bonus disc titled "It's a NickToons Christmas!," which contained the following Nicktoon Christmas episodes:
- T.U.F.F. Puppy episode: "A Doomed Christmas"
- The Fairly OddParents episode: "Christmas Everyday!"
- Fanboy & Chum Chum episode: "A Very Brrr-y Icemas"
- The digital release only included episodes produced in 1080p.
- The DVD was later re-released on Blu-ray format on October 15, 2013 in the United States.
- This DVD is known as "It's a SpongeBob SquarePants Christmas!" in the UK and other international countries.
- This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants DVD for a few things:
- The first SpongeBob SquarePants DVD to include an episode that was produced in 1080p.
- The first SpongeBob DVD to have an episode in true 16:9 widescreen. The second is The Pilot a Mini-Movie and the Square Shorts, and the third is The Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants.
- The first SpongeBob DVD release with only 1 episode on it.
- The first single-disc SpongeBob DVD to have a character on the back of the DVD since SpongeBob's Truth or Square.
- This is the second DVD for two things:
- The second Christmas-themed SpongeBob DVD. The first was Christmas.
- The second single-disc SpongeBob DVD to have a PG rating from the BBFC due to mild language, although only on the original UK version. The first one was Karate Island.
- This and The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom DVD are the only non-movie SpongeBob DVDs to contain only one episode.
- Likewise, this DVD is tied with The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom DVD as the shortest SpongeBob DVD.
- On November 6, 2012, this DVD set and Christmas were released together in a bundle called the Christmas DVD Double Pack.
