General
- International versions of The Complete Fourth Season use the same cover art as this DVD.
- Both discs were reprinted as the first 2 discs of The Complete Fourth Season in North America.
- The Thai version has a different cover.

- Both discs 1 and 2 contain previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include older SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Book 1: Water, Volumes 1-5 and The Complete Book 1 Collection DVDs, Nick Picks DVDs, and Creature from the Krusty Krab video game trailer.
- The original animatics for "Fear of a Krabby Patty" and "Dunces and Dragons" are included on disc 2.
- Although, the original animatic for "Fear of a Krabby Patty" was previously included as a special feature on the Fear of a Krabby Patty DVD that was released one year earlier on May 24, 2005.
- The last episode on disc 2 is out of order. The actual next episode, "Chimps Ahoy," is moved to Volume 2 for unknown reasons.
- On the two discs, it features a picture of SpongeBob's driver's license.
- Also, it says SpongeBob's driver's license expires on 12-14-10: December 14, 2010. In "Sleepy Time," "No Free Rides," "Nautical Novice," and "Girls' Night Out," his license also expired on December 14, 2003.
- This would also mean that, assuming it must be renewed every four years, SpongeBob got his license on 12-14-2006, which could indicate a potential release date that might've been changed.
- Also, it says SpongeBob's driver's license expires on 12-14-10: December 14, 2010. In "Sleepy Time," "No Free Rides," "Nautical Novice," and "Girls' Night Out," his license also expired on December 14, 2003.
- This release has the fewest amount of episodes of any SpongeBob season DVD with a total of 18.
Errors
- On the back of disc 1, "Good Neighbors" is listed as "Good Neighbor," forgetting the "s" at the end of the title. The same thing happens on the Where's Gary?, Double Feature Volume 2, Triple Pack 4, and Big Hits: Volume 2 DVDs.
- On the cover for disc 2, the flags on the Krusty Krab are in the wrong order.
- On the cover for disc 2, the Krusty Towers has only six floors instead of seventeen floors.
- On the cover for disc 2, SpongeBob can be seen wearing a red employee outfit when it should be blue.
- In the special features menu for disc 2, the listing for the animatic of "Dunces and Dragons" leaves out the S at the end of "Dunces," rendering the name as "Dunce and Dragons."
