General
- The front cover of this DVD bears a resemblance with The Complete Fourth Season DVD.
- Both discs were reprinted as the last two discs of The Complete Fourth Season in North America.

- Both discs 1 and 2 contain previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include older SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Book 1: Water, Volumes 1-5 and The Complete Book 1 Collection DVDs, and Nick Picks DVDs.
- This box set was released before all of the episodes included on disc 2 (with the exception of "Best Day Ever" in 2006) aired on American television.
- Because of this fact, this box set is the first SpongeBob season DVD (though not the first DVD release overall) to include unaired episodes at the time of its release.
Errors
- On the main menu for disc 1, there are a couple of clips from "Ghost Host" and "Wishing You Well," even though those episodes are on the Season 4 Volume 1 box set.
- The first four episodes on disc 1 are out of order.
- In the episode "Squidtastic Voyage," there is a closed-captioning error when SpongeBob and Patrick are dancing at the beginning. SpongeBob says, "Tropical breeze." However, the captions say, "Tropical waves" instead of "Tropical breeze."
- "The Thing" and "Hocus Pocus" are listed in reverse order. This error also occurs for "Born to Be Wild," "Best Frenemies," "The Pink Purloiner," and "Squid Wood."
- On the last page of the episode selection for disc 2, the picture used for "Best Day Ever" is actually a shot from "Mid-Life Crustacean" when SpongeBob and Patrick are saying, "Not lame!"
- This error also occurs on The Complete Fourth Season, 2-Season TV Pack, and The Third & Fourth Seasons DVDs.
