"The Best Day Ever" is a song that is featured in the episode of the same name. It was previously featured as the fourth and final song in the credits of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Andy Paley and Tom Kenny wrote and composed it.

Composition

The track is composed in the key of G♯ minor in a 12/8 time signature (or 4/4 with an emphasis on swing) with a tempo of 128 crotchet beats per minute, but the first and second choruses are in B major, then the last chorus is in C major. SpongeBob's vocals range from D♯4-C6.^[1]

This version appears in the stage adaptation as the penultimate song before the curtain call, with additional music and lyrics by Jonathan Coulton and Tom Kitt and a brief reprise of "Tomorrow Is" in the intro.

This is a downloadable song on Rock Band 2.
Stephen Hillenburg played the ukulele in this song.
The song is heavily inspired by the music of The Beach Boys, specifically "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "God Only Knows," and "Good Vibrations."
The song plays during the end credits of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. The movie was released before the episode "Best Day Ever" premiered; however, the song itself is shortened.
- There is also an extra verse that is not in the original version of the song.
"Best Day Ever" was featured in The SpongeBob Musical and 2019 Kids' Choice Awards.
In the reprise version, the five notes of the music that play right after Mr. Krabs' line "Hey, I'm not paying for that!" are in the exact tempo and pitch of the intro to the song "I'm a Believer" by The Monkees.
