Sea Stories is a SpongeBob SquarePants VHS tape that was released on November 5, 2002 and contains two episodes from season 1 and three episodes from season 2.

General

This VHS has several differences from its DVD counterpart:
- This version has previews for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius DVD and VHS tape, Nickelodeon/Nick Jr. Christmas VHS tapes and DVDs, and SpongeBob SquarePants: Nautical Nonsense, Sponge Buddies, and Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies on VHS and DVD. The DVD version has no previews. This and the Halloween VHS tape are the only SpongeBob SquarePants VHS tapes to have a preview for a Nick Jr. product.
- "Shanghaied" only has the SpongeBob ending, rather than having all three.
- The Patchy segments are available for "Shanghaied" on this VHS tape, but not on the DVD.
- The episodes "No Free Rides," "Sailor Mouth," "No Weenies Allowed," "Jellyfish Jam," and "The Algae's Always Greener" are on the DVD version, but not the VHS version.
- This VHS tape was released in Latin America and Brazil while the DVD version was never released in those countries.
The back cover of this VHS tape contains pictures from the episodes "Shanghaied" and "Hooky."
The episode "Gary Takes a Bath" was released on this VHS tape eight months before premiering on Nickelodeon in the United States. However, the episode premiered on AFN in the United States on March 4, 2002,^[1] eight months prior to this VHS tape's release.
This was the last SpongeBob VHS tape to be released in 2002.
This is the last VHS tape to contain the Nickelodeon "Maze" bumper ID in the opening. Though it would not appear again until the It's a SpongeBob Christmas! Blu-ray in the "Bonus Episodes" section.

Both the DVD and VHS versions were released in Paramount's 90th anniversary year in 2002. As such, the VHS version features the Paramount 90th anniversary logo in the opening.
- This VHS tape, however, is the only SpongeBob SquarePants VHS to contain the Paramount 90th anniversary variation of the Feature Presentation bumper, not counting demo tapes.

Errors

The back of the Spanish VHS release has the picture of SpongeBob in the bathtub duplicated and overlapping for unknown reasons.
