Trivia
General
- The following major episodic characters are on the Region 1 DVD cover:
- Unknown "Y" 1 ("Trenchbillies")
- Incidental Y2 ("Trenchbillies")
- Sam Star ("Big Sister Sam")
- Madame Hagfish ("The Curse of the Hex")
- The Region 1 cover can be seen as somewhat based on "Welcome to the Bikini Bottom Triangle" or "Rodeo Daze" due to the crowd of characters and SpongeBob blowing a bubble.
- On the alternate covers (besides the Japanese release), Template:Data:Links is the only main character on the cover and the other characters are made out of bubbles.
- The side of the Latin America version has the same side as The Complete Third Season.
- On the DVD description on the backside, the following episodes are referenced:
- "Model Sponge" - "SpongeBob's entire modeling career."
- "Tentacle-Vision" - "Squidward's whole public television career."
- "Summer Job" - "Mrs. Puff's complete Krusty Krab career."
- "The Great Patty Caper" - "you'll get a hilarious whodunit."
- "Earworm" - "a song you won't easily forget."
- "Gary in Love" - "a slimy love story."
- "Legends of Bikini Bottom" - "the entire multi-chapter special "Legends of Bikini Bottom."
- The first disc includes previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include older SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever DVD.
- This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants DVD for several things:
- The first SpongeBob DVD with four discs.
- The first SpongeBob season DVD where the episodes are not listed by disc on the back.
- The first SpongeBob season DVD set to be released on DVD completely in Region 1 since The Complete 3rd Season in 2005.
- The first SpongeBob season DVD set to be packaged in one standard DVD case instead of a box set with multiple cases. Previous seasons would later be re-released in this format.
- The first SpongeBob season DVD set to have plain gray discs instead of discs with artwork on them. All season sets both new and re-released would use this format except for The Next 100 Episodes, The Best 200 Episodes Ever, and The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVDs.
- The first SpongeBob season DVD to have the spine text in a color other than white.
- This DVD also introduced the format of having a large number indicating the season number in the middle of the cover artwork. All season sets now use this format, including re-releases.
- This is the last SpongeBob season DVD to have an animated menu.
- This DVD is the only Region 1 season set to not have "The" before the rest of the title.
- This is the only season DVD to have differing English names.
- On June 7, 2022, this DVD set and The Complete Eighth Season were released together in a bundle called The Seventh & Eighth Seasons.
- The UK and Australian versions have no bonus features.
Errors
- The DVD description for "The Curse of Bikini Bottom" says that SpongeBob and Template:Data:Links disturbed the Flying Dutchman's slumber. This is wrong, because they cut off his beard and do not disturb his slumber.
- The DVD description for "Squidward in Clarinetland" is missing the period at the end of the sentence.
- In the episode "One Coarse Meal," when SpongeBob and Template:Data:Links both say, "Huh?," the closed-captioning refers to it as "(confused babbling)."
- This also happens on The Next 100 Episodes, The Best 200 Episodes Ever, The Seventh & Eighth Seasons, and The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVDs.
- On the episode listing and the disc 3 episode selection screen, "Sponge-Cano!" is listed as "Sponge-Cano," missing the exclamation point at the end of the title.
- This also happens on the Legends of Bikini Bottom, Triple Pack 3, The Best of Bikini Bottom, Kids Double Pack, Kids Double Pack: Volume 3, Next 100 Episodes, Big Hits: Volume 2, The Best 200 Episodes Ever, The Seventh & Eighth Seasons, and The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVDs.
