- DVD-Forum.at called this a DVD "that can be recommended to young and old without any restrictions. The quality of the DVD is very good, only the lack of extras spoils the overall impression a bit."[1]
Trivia
- The DVD was released in September despite being winter-themed.
- This DVD contains previews for various shows and movies. These include Rugrats Go Wild, older SpongeBob DVDs and VHS tapes, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius DVDs and VHS tapes, and Tak and the Power of Juju.
- Advertisements in the DVD case are ads for other Nickelodeon VHS tapes and DVDs. These include Rugrats: Christmas (VHS only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Tide and Seek (DVD only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Tales from the Deep (DVD only), SpongeBob SquarePants: Lost at Sea (DVD only), and Rugrats: Mysteries (VHS and DVD). On the other side is a poster of the front cover.
- The DVD's main menu uses a winter scene from the episode "Snowball Effect."
- This DVD was re-released sometime in 2008 with a different cover.
- This DVD was re-released again in Holidays with SpongeBob DVD box set on November 15, 2011.
- Also on October 4, 2005 this DVD along with Dora the Explorer: Dora's Christmas and Blue's Room: Holiday Wishes were released in a bundle called Nick For the Holidays!
- This is the first Christmas-themed SpongeBob DVD.
- This is the first SpongeBob DVD release to use the 2003 Nickelodeon splat and impact font cover style.
- This impact font cover style was used for some other Nickelodeon DVDs released around that time period too.
- The Polish version of this DVD contains "Christmas Who?," "Procrastination," "Imitation Krabs," "Survival of the Idiots," "Wormy," "Patty Hype," and "Prehibernation Week."
- This DVD shows the uncut version of "Procrastination," since the DVD was released before the scene was edited out in May 2005.
- At some point, this DVD set and It's a SpongeBob Christmas! were released in a bundle called the Christmas DVD Double Pack.
