General
- Just like the Sea Stories DVD and VHS cover, the DVD artwork is SpongeBob's face.
- Both discs were reprinted as the first two discs of The Complete Fifth Season in North America.
- Advertisements in this DVD case are for all previous SpongeBob SquarePants season DVDs that were released before this one.
- Both discs 1 and 2 contain previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs. These include older SpongeBob DVDs, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Book 2: Earth, Volumes 1-4 DVDs, Nick Picks DVDs, The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie DVD, Zoey 101: The Complete 1st Season DVD, and Creature from the Krusty Krab video game trailer.
- On the main menu for the second disc, there are a couple of clips from "A Flea in Her Dome" and "The Donut of Shame," even though those episodes are on the Season 5 Volume 2 box set.
- The episode "Fungus Among Us" was released on this DVD 25 days before it aired on American television.
- This season DVD is the first home video release of "To Love a Patty," "Money Talks," SpongeBob vs. the Patty Gadget," "Slimy Dancing," "The Krusty Sponge," and "Sing a Song of Patrick."
- This is the first SpongeBob season DVD to play the credits for each individual episode segment instead of the credits for the episode and their sister episode(s).
- It is also the first SpongeBob season DVD to have the end credits on a loop.
- This is the first SpongeBob DVD to have pop-up trivia facts since The Complete 3rd Season.
- This is the last SpongeBob season DVD to use the "Nick DVD" logo.
