Trivia

General

  • On the bottom of the front cover it says, "10 Water-Logged Tales." On the back, and on the episode selection it has nine episodes with one episode being considered a special feature.
  • On the spine, it does not show the SpongeBob SquarePants series logo, unlike other SpongeBob DVDs at the time.
  • The back cover of this DVD contains pictures from these episodes:
  • "Shanghaied" comes with all three endings and is listed in the special features section of the DVD.
  • This DVD is rated PG in Canada.
  • This DVD has no previews, but the VHS version does have previews.

The Paramount 90th anniversary logo.
  • Both the DVD and VHS versions were released in Paramount's 90th anniversary year in 2002. As such, the DVD version features the Paramount 90th anniversary logo in the opening.
  • This DVD does have the Paramount 90th anniversary logo, but the Nickelodeon robot logo is replaced with the Nickelodeon fish logo, but is technically still the same logo combo as the previous DVD, Halloween.
  • "Shanghaied" is the first episode on the VHS tape version. On the DVD version, the first episode is "Gary Takes a Bath."
  • The Patchy segments in "Shanghaied" are not on this DVD.
  • The episode "Gary Takes a Bath" was released on this DVD eight months before premiering on Nickelodeon in the United States, making this DVD the second DVD to premiere an episode, with the first being Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies. However, the episode premiered on AFN in the United States on March 4, 2002,[1] eight months prior to this DVD's release.
  • "No Free Rides," "Sailor Mouth," "No Weenies Allowed," "Jellyfish Jam," and "The Algae's Always Greener" are not on the VHS version, making this the second DVD to have episodes not released on VHS. The first was with the Halloween DVD.
  • All of the episodes on this DVD had clips during the "SpongeBob Dancin' Pants" music video on the special features.
  • The "SpongeBob Dancin' Pants" music video can also be found on disc 3 of The Complete 1st Season DVD as a special feature.

    • This is the first SpongeBob DVD to use the Nickelodeon fish logo in the opening.
    • This is the first SpongeBob DVD to have the second version of the Nick.com logo on the back cover.
  • This DVD was never released in Latin America, Brazil, the UK, and Australia.
    • However, its VHS counterpart was released in Latin America and Brazil.
  • Robert Yarborough is responsible for the packaging of this DVD, Undersea Antics Volume 1, and Nickelodeon Super Toons.[2]
  • At some point, this DVD, Tales from the Deep, and Bikini Bottom Adventures were released together in a bundle called The Underwater Stories, but it was never released in the US.
